Meanwhile, other characters include Max, who is Daniel's best friend and does not judge him for his OCD and Raya, who Daniel has a huge crush on.
Sara Malvern ('Psycho Sara') was a girl that everyone knew since preschool.  The students noticed there was always something off about her.  Everyone referred to her as 'psycho,' but Daniel could sympathize and realized she just seemed distracted, like himself.
One day, Sara writes a mysterious note, signed 'Fellow Star Child', to Daniel asking for his help.  She believes that her mother's boyfriend killed her father.  After persistent investigation and accusations, John (Sara's mother's boyfriend), told Sara, "I didn't kill him.  Your dad was ill...He was drinking and taking prescription pills...Overdose.  He killed himself" (273).

What happens if it is mistreated?]]> 2022-04-28 22:52:28 UTC https://padlet.com/bm932360/5vhg8s90hsg0nllt/wish/2163419394 bm932360 https://padlet.com/bm932360/5vhg8s90hsg0nllt/wish/2171785103 I thought that this book was very good and engaging.  I liked that it was easy to follow and that the main character was a middle school student, considering I am still a student, it made it easier to relate.  OCDaniel ended up finding a companion who understood him because she was just like him, someone who suffered with OCD.  This was magical for me to see because even though Daniel felt like he was a nobody, he had someone who was just like him.

OCD, to me, is one of the disabilities that is easier for me to understand.  As a future educator, it is important to know that I may have an OCD student in my classroom.  While completing this Padlet, I learned about how to accommodate these students and how to help them to succeed.  For the future, I hope more research is done to find out the cause of OCD.]]> 2022-05-05 17:10:56 UTC https://padlet.com/bm932360/5vhg8s90hsg0nllt/wish/2171785103
