-          Sheppard Software’s: 50 States online resource (smart board activity)

-          Pencils/Pens

-          Individual 20X20 sized maps of the Unites States of America (laminated)

-          Laminating Paper

-          Laminating Machine  

-          Previously cut and separated pieces of each state that are in the identical size and shape of the state Individual 20X20 sized maps of the Unites States of America (laminated) 

-          Velcro (cut in dime sized shapes glued to the back of each state)

-          Scissors

-          Smart Board 

-          Laminated flash cards (one side has the state and the other side has a picture of the state on the other side) 

-          The lead instructor will present each student with a blank copy of The United States of America Map Pre- Quiz Sheet. To have as a visual in front of them and so use the smart board to go over the digital/ interactive version with all students.  

-          Once the pre-quiz is over the lead instructor will use the smartboard map up that will have all 50 states in the correct location. The instructor will then review each state placement and instruct each student to review their own pre-quiz to see how they may got correct as well as how many the got incorrect. 

-          The lead instructor will then review the interactive map activity that provides the name of each state and review historical facts that are listed.

-          After reviewing the pre-quiz, and each student that participated was able to see how many correct and incorrect answers they have.

-          The lead instructor will hand out a 20X20 map of the Unites States of America (laminated) as well as cut out shapes of each state that have also been laminated and have had Velcro placed on the back of each one. 

-          Each student will then follow along with the lead instructor as they review the name and location of each of each state. The lead instructor will inform the class prior to starting the activity that they will randomly call out state names and ask the students to raise their hands to answer the question. (class participation).

-          At the end of each day, the lead instructor will review the interactive map as a group, the students will have a chance to answer the questions out loud and practice as a group.
