For starters, the government knows itself better than anyone, so it would know its own laws and limitations. Next, other branches of the government could call out a part for "not doing its job."

Well, no, the government can't be the ones to judge whether or not the constitution that the government MADE. the government made a constitution that they thought would be best so they obviously wouldn't say that their OWN work wasn't good.

Nate W. Q. 2
I personally believe that almost every body in this life strives for power. Not only can we not trust them to try and use their ability of judging the constitution to get power, but that if they were educated in the government, the people would be able to find more full-proof ways to get themselves into a position of power. So, I would trust the people who are already in power, because they are already in a place of power so they would want to sustain that power.

In the scenario there would be much bias no matter what party is in control, and that is exactly why we have a checks balances system. Each party will justify their own opinion, saying, "The president is the president for four years not three," while the opposite party can make an opposing argument. Hence, the government governing themselves would be a biased nightmare full of contradictory opinions.
___________________________________
I do not trust my fellow citizens to protect our democracy. We live in a whole different world now than Jefferson, and I believe that his quote is basically inapplicable. Media and news bias could not be worse than it is right now, with the majority of stations/sources sharing absolute lies that citizens blindly believe and follow. I truly think that Jefferson would agree on this: the majority of citizens of the USA are blind push-overs who believe anything that Lester Holt tells them at 7pm.

The government most likely knows the laws and everything about itself better than some outside group.

No, I don't trust the other citizens of the United States to protect our democracy. The people are largely biased and a lot of the times when they don't get their way, they lash out. You see that with what happened at the capitol building. Not all people are "untrustworthy" in that regard, but the overwhelming amount of people that are would skew any system that could be put in place.
