         <title>Destructive Interference</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Occurs along the medium where interfering waves have an opposite displacement. The waves have the same maximum displacement but are travelling in opposite directions. There is no resulting displacement of the particles in the medium. The upward pulse of one of the waves is canceled out by the downward pull of the other.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>An automobile muffler is another example. The exhaust system in a car makes a lot of noise, and without a car muffler, the noise would be very disruptive. The muffler produces a sound wave out  that collides with the waves of the exhaust system, cancelling out the noise. </div>]]></description>
