They cherry pick examples of extreme feminism or queerness and blow it out of proportion. Other figures like Andy Ngo, Steven Crowder, and Paul Joseph Watson are more upfront with their reactionary beliefs. Social media companies use algorithms so that each user's experience is garnered specifically towards them. Companies want users to stay on the app for as long as possible so that they see more ads. The algorithm will see what users interact with and recommend them content that's similar. This becomes a concern when it comes to political content. Many conservative influencers like to peddle a narrative in which they're some sort of whistleblowers, saying the hard truth when others won't. This is a great marketing strategy. New viewers will feel that they must dive deeper into these creators and their communities in order to find this truth that's been hidden from them. And the algorithm makes sure that they'll have no trouble doing so.
