This video goes into depth on the importance of being aware of the different ways criminals could potentially take your debit card information. Being sure to always cover your PIN seems like a no-brainer but I know myself and I won't when I don't think anyone else is around. After watching this video I will also be sure to always verify that any ATM machine that I am using has not been tampered with.

This video again reminds us how important it is to keep personal information personal because the damages at times may be long lasting. Keeping things like your SIN number and passport in a safe place in your home and never keeping them in your wallet fulltime. Also, you always need to know who exactly you are giving your information too and why. Always going directly to your bank if you have any questions or concerns.

In this video, we meet two women who share their experience with fraud and how it affected them. A common way scams are sent around is by impersonating a reliable company by email or through social media. So be sure to always verify anything outside of the normal if you get an email from Revenue Canada or your bank take the time to call and comfrim. Leave all important documents at home and cancel any cards that go missing. review all statements and always get a receipt when using an ATM machine. And which over to a chip reader card verse swipe.

This info-graphic also provide important information on how to avoid debit and credit card fraud and to remind us to use our banks as a tool against fraud. The moment you can't find your card call the bank and cancel it, even if you sure you misplaced it better safe then sorry and most banks will issue you a new card on the spot as long as you have a valid id. This info-graphic also reminds us that the bank would never ask over the phone or by email to confirm our personal information. And as long as we don't play an active role in fraud your bank will reimburse you can fraudulent charges. Another way Banks work with us to limit fraud is by only letting you tap up to $100 and they assume %100 liability if your tap was ever misused and after $200 your card will require you to enter your PIN.

This graphic shows the most common form of credit card fraud. While people using stolen and lost cards are now lower than before, the use of fake cards and cards not present (online/ over the phone transactions) are on the rise. So that is from fraudsters copying cards and from fraudsters getting card information willing.
