As the play went on though, Walter definitely changed and became more confident in himself and that's shown towards the end, where he stands with his family and choosed to move into their new home, regardless of what one of the people in their new neighborhood said they should do. What he did at the end really changed my view on him because it showed that although he was broken down, he still got right back up and stood with his family like he should as a father and husband.
At the start of the play Walter was selfish, and only believe that his liquor store was the only thing that mattered. While at the of my play Walter starts to care more about family instead of his liquor story and starts to be supportive of his sister's dream of being a doctor. So, my feelings have changed about him because I use to think of him as a bully and just doesn't care about his family, but now I think of him as a better person.

In the beginning Walter was more focused on making a name for himself and being economically stable, it was mostly just selfish wants which made him an unlikable person but at the very end he seems to have realized that past generation have helped get to where he is now. He realizes that the house was a tribute to his father because it was bought with his fathers money.

He's know this segregation his whole life and he's just trying to maintain it which is human nature, and he's not being that mean about it. He spent his whole life learning that African Americans were less than him and to not be around them.

I think the ending to the play was a happy one as they finally are getting out of their small, cramped little house and into one much bigger and with more room. Although they were told by Mr. Lindner that they shouldn't move there, they chose to anyway and I think the family will have their ups and downs in their new neighborhood. Ups being more space, new friends, and even help from friendly neighbors. Downs would probably be racism, harassment, and vandalising of their property by the people of their new neighborhood.(Lennox)
