         <description><![CDATA[<div>Bismillah khan was born on 21 march 1916 , Bismillah belongs to a well known family of musicians from Bihar. At the age of three when his mother took him to his maternal uncle's house in Benaras, Bismillah was fascinated watching his uncles practice the shehnai. He started getting lessons in playing the instruments and would sit practising throughout the day.<br>The flowing waters of the Ganga inspired him to improvise and invent raagas.<br>At the age of 14, Bismillah accompanied his uncle to Allahabad Music Conference.<br> He was named as Qamaruddin to rhyme with Shamsuddin, their first son. His grandfather, Rasool Baksh Khan uttered “Bismillah” (the basmala) after looking at the newborn, thus he was named Bismillah Khan. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>He took to music early in life<br>at the age of 14 he accompanied his uncle to the Allahabad Music Conference.<br>With the opening of All India Radio in Lucknow in 1938 came his big break. He soon became an often-heard shehnai player on radio. In one of the hit films by Vijay Bhatt, his composition ''Dil ka khilona hai toot gaya" turned out to be a nationwide chartbuster.He was determined and diligent towards his work.<br>awards and recognition came thick and fast.He became the first Indian to be invited to perform  at the prestigious Lincoln Centre Hall in USA.He also took part in the World Exposition in Montreal.national awards like the Padmashri, the Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibushan were conferred on him.In 2001, he was awarded India's highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna.</div>]]></description>
