The school system in Vietnam and the UK have several things in common.First, both are start primary school when they're five to six, Before that, many children go to nursery school. A second way in which these two school systems are similar is that Secondary education is often divided into two phases, middle/junior high school and high school. Some children go to boarding schools where they can eat, study and sleep. However, they are strikingly different in many ways. For example, In Vietnam, a school year is divided into two semesters: the first begins in late August and ends in December, while the second begins right after the first and lasts until June, but the American school year traditionally begins at the end of August or the day after Labor Day in September, after a traditional summer recess. Children customarily advance together from one grade to the next as a single cohort or "class" upon reaching the end of each school year in late May or early June. Another difference is the differences between the two cultures such as: Vietnam students study heavily in Math and Science, America students more heavily in what they interesting in or good at, Vietnam’s schools start at 6:45 and ends at 4:30 (Middle School) America start at 7:30 and end at 2:30 (High School)Vietnam’s schools start at 6:45 and ends at 4:30 (Middle School) America start at 7:30 and end at 2:30 (High School), Vietnam students have to studied a large number of required subjects, America students have more variety to choose.Whereas High school in Vietnam graduates need high scores to be admitted to universities. Securing a place in a public university is considered a major step towards a successful career, especially for those from rural areas or disadvantaged families, the pressure on the candidates therefore remains very high. By contract, During high school, students (usually in 11th grade) may take one or more standardized tests depending on their post-secondary education preferences and their local graduation requirements. In theory, these tests evaluate the overall level of knowledge and learning aptitude of the students. The SAT and ACT are the most common standardized tests that students take when applying to college. Besides, In American education system, they advice you taking time out after your degree course can give you a chance to further develop your skills, as well as giving you the opportunity perhaps to travel and work in a different country. There are hundreds of things which you can do during a year out and what you choose will depend, amongst other things, on what you what to get out the experience. You can also combine activities, for example, a temporary job to raise some money, followed by some traveling and a period of voluntary work.
