By learning multiliteracies, students learn to be creative and think critically, to make complex decisions, to write effectively, to solve problems, to use technology as a tool, to interpret messages, to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with others. In addition, multiliteracies can help teachers provide equal access to learning for all students.

Multiliteracy is presented through five different aspects, including multimodal texts such as linguistic, visual, audio, spatial and gestural forms to effectively communicate meaning.
