Big Idea: How does social media affect us or other people around the world?

- It causes more stress 
            -using the evidence from a survey of 1,800 people women get more stressed than men, saying twitter may be one of the causes
             - Although there are people that uses twitter as a coping strategy to not get stressed 
- It causes lower moods
              - A research in Australia says that people who used Facebook for 20 minutes have gotten a lower mood
- It causes more anxiety
              - People who have been using social media have been more worried and had trouble sleeping
- Causes depression
              - Two studies say that after kids went on social media, over 700 students had symptoms of depression
- Reduces sleep
- Causes addiction
- Lowers their self-esteem
