The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian is a story about Junior trying to make it out of his neighborhood someday..First, Junior describes how everyone in his reservation hates him, as well as his poor and
racist environment. This is a character vs society conflict. The conflict makes life harder for everyone in the reservation. The native Americans that live there can not even afford simple things such as a backpack. When he decides to go to a school in the suburbs, everyone really hates him, even his best friend Rowdy. Junior talks about and compares the native american students to the white students.Junior main contrast is the he uses a trash bag for his books. Another thing that he speaks on is that he does not have positive role models or opportunities for a bright future. The school that junior attends now is completely white except for him. The teacher at his school doubts his contradiction since he is Indian and insults him when a student confirms junior's statement.Junior avoids questions because he doesn’t want people to know that he is poor at his new school.t he is so used to being bullied that he is just always uncomfortable with telling the truth about himself. This novel demonstrates that you should never give up on your dreams.

This book was great to me. I liked the tone ans well as the overall story. It also comes with a great message. This book is a great telling of a coming of age story. The interesting parts of the story are when he goes to a different school. He becomes an outsider without everyone hating him. This story was different from others because of this. This story allows itself to be far from generic.
