         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>During the first month, newborns typically grow about an ounce a day.</p></li><li><p>The only form of communication with the baby is through its crying. Parents quickly learn the different types of cries a baby makes and what they mean.</p></li><li><p>Newborns should sleep 17-19 hours per day. It's important to place the baby on its back and on a firm mattress to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.</p></li><li><p>Reflexes that are present at birth are sucking, swallowing, yawning, blinking, gagging, and coughing.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>At this age, you start to notice your child has a lot of spurts of energy as their curiosity starts to get the best of them.</p></li><li><p>Teeth start coming in at a faster pace.</p></li><li><p>They usually are able to walk on their own without assistance. Although, they may still struggle to be steady and walk around obstacles in the way.</p></li><li><p>Their speech is typically limited to only one-word sayings that convey an entire thought.</p></li><li><p>A lot of things they start to do independently. For example, they drink from a cup, pick things up, feed themselves, or even walk on their own.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>At 6 months, babies will start being more responsive. They recognize their name, respond to noises with sounds, and make sounds to represent positive or negative emotions.</p></li><li><p>Begin to get curious about objects and start to reach out for them.</p></li><li><p>They can roll over in both directions, push down on their legs when on a hard surface, and rock back and forth.</p></li><li><p>This is when they begin showing interest in different foods. They enjoy eating single-ingredient pureed foods and cereals.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>A lot of recognition is starting to be developed at 4 months. Their eyes will begin to track moving objects and babies will start to watch you more intently. </p></li><li><p>At 4 months, they should be able to push up to their elbows when lying on their stomach and also roll onto their back.</p></li><li><p>You will be able to tell when the baby is hungry if you notice they hold their hands near their mouth.  </p></li><li><p>There is a lot of babbling going on. Not yet words, but more like "ooooo" or "aaaaah" sounds.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Babies start to realize more about their surroundings. They cling to the people they are familiar with and are afraid of strangers. </p></li><li><p>Playing peek-a-boo is something they are fond of. They often give good smiles and laughs when you play this game with them. </p></li><li><p>They begin to move a lot more. Most begin to crawl at 9 months and are able to get into a sitting position by themselves.</p></li><li><p>Their first teeth start to come in. It is important to keep in mind that it is uncomfortable for babies when their teeth grow. Teethers are something they enjoy to help ease the uncomfortable feeling.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Your baby will start to recognize you and look at you when you talk to them. They might even smile back at you.</p></li><li><p>At 2 months, babies will be able to start lifting their heads and moving them from left to right when they are on their tummy.</p></li><li><p>Instead of only crying, they start to make other noises like vowel sounds or cooing. </p></li><li><p>Typically, during this month, babies have a growth spurt. They grow quickly at about 2.5-3.8 centimeters in one month.</p></li></ul>]]></description>
