The people who are disproportionately affected are those who live in the forest and the animals who live there forcing them to move causing loss of habitat, lack of food, etc.  But the affect is felt all over the world by global warming and climate change.

Forests remove excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.  An increase in carbon dioxide causes a decrease in oxygen levels and increased heat.  Some organisms will die with just a 1 degree temperature change.

The social impact is conflicts and struggles over land and natural resources that occur.  The greed of industries are over using and over cutting trees for their profit.   Poor countries and corrupt governments are selling their natural resources for less than they are worth to keep from going bankrupt,

There is an increase in demand and less supply which causes an economic impact.

Efforts to improve / solutions are for corporations to use paper wisely.   Implement laws that will cause no more deforestation.  Reduce wasteful land use practices.  Government make individuals aware of the issues.  Individuals can plant trees.  Contribute money to conservation funds and organizations.

Brazil is the singular country most  been affected by deforestation with other tropical countries also being affected such as Indonesia.

Climate changes that are experienced are forest fires release tons of green house gases into the atmosphere, ozone depletion.  

Half of the world’s original forests have been destroyed in the last 100 years and even though we have information and awareness deforestation has not reduced much.
