         <description><![CDATA[<p>Theme: Who we are</p><p>Central Idea: Making informed choices can impact our overall well-being.</p><p>Concepts: Responsibility, causation</p><p>Learning Experiences: Students will be looking at menus from local restaurants and fast food restaurants. They will need to make 3 meal choices for their day using a budge of $20. When looking at the menus they can choose to eat at 1 restaurant or multiple restaurants. They will be prompted to make healthy choices that we can reflect back for the reminder of the unit. </p><p>Why: Students will be using this provocation to reflect on their choices while we are learning in our health and ELA unit. As well, they will begin their budget making skills with this provation and we will reflect back on how well they did and if they used their addition strategies to be successful and not go over their limit. </p><p>Resources: menu, money(paper), worksheet to fill out money</p><p>When: Begining of our Module 8 ELA and health unit. Around first week of May.</p>]]></description>

The food choices they make can affect different structures within our body's function such as organs, cells, muscles and other systems in our body.</p><p><br/></p><p>Learning Engagement: Students will get a bag with a chef hat, apron, utensils and healthy recipes. Why? So they can appreciate the direct connection between the food they eat and their overall health and well-being. It will encourage students to adopt lifelong habits of healthy eating for optimal physical and mental health.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>
