We had a class plant which we would make predictions about how big it would grow. But our teacher was also teaching us how to be caregivers to plants without us students even knowing it. We learned how to care for the plants and learned a love for taking care of the plants without anyone having to tell us to do it. 

I played T-Ball when I was in Pre-School, and One thing I remember is no one ever having to teach me how to swing the bat. I have always been burned by having to do most to all of the work because I am not going to let me grades suffer because of someone's laziness. 

As a person, I love group projects. This turns the problem into something they know and can understand, while also making it more enjoyable. 

Something I find myself doing while I am helping my students at my after school job is oversimplifying. I am actively working and learning towards gaining my degree, and becoming a Teacher. 

It also reminds me of when I was in middle school and I was learning to play the saxophone. I would listen to all the great saxophone players and dream of being as good as them one day.
