From the text there are four stages of identity development.
1)diffusion
When an individual has not gone through a crisis or made any serious decisions.
(Diffusion to me seems like the beginning of high school, where you have no real responsibilities or life experience.)

2)Foreclosure
When an individual has made a commitment but has not experienced a crisis.
(the commitments are usually forced/encouraged by the parents on to an adolescent. For example when I wanted to continue playing competitive soccer but school was becoming increasingly difficult. I had to commit to going to practice three nights a week despite the huge amounts of homework I had to do as well)

Personally I see myself in the Foreclosure stage. Because I have made a commitment to school (trying anyways hahaha), training 4-5 days out of the week for my sport, and am committed to becoming a Physical therapist. Therefore I have made many commitments, but I do not think I have been through any real crisis' in my life time. The biggest "crisis" I have overcome is tearing my ACL and meniscus resulting in loss of scholarship offers, and moving around so much at young ages.
