Name of the Dance: Tinikling

BACKGROUND : Tinkling is a popular traditional Philippine folk dance. The dance originated in Leyte, Island in Visayas. It imitates the movement of the tikling birds as they walk between grass stems, run over tree branches, or dodge bamboo traps set by rice farmers." 
DESCRIPTION OF THE DANCE:
Tinikling commonly involves two people moving two bamboo poles back and forth along the ground, with the poles tapping against each other and the ground to emphasize a musical rhythm, while simultaneously one or more dancers are stepping over and between the pole.
COSTUME USED TO DANCE: 
Females traditionally wear a dress called balintawak or patadyong, and males wear an untucked embroidered shirt called the barong Tagalog.
