Imagine you are one of the nodal teachers in our intervention schools and are faced with all the problems with grounds, number of children, lack of equipment, lack of training, etc. Despite all this, you are a highly motivated teacher who likes to work with children on Physical Education and takes sessions regularly. What would be your vision for children of your school in the subject of physical education? What would you want to achieve?

As a PE teacher in my school, I want to provide my students with exposure to engage and experience physical activities and sports that they love playing so that they are active and fit. And further, if they want to pursue any sports in their lives the foundation should be strong from the beginning.

As a child I used to get bored in my PE classes, because all the classes used to have the same 'Savdhan- Visram' exercises. I had a lot of fun playing sports with my friends in my colony, and remember thinking why we can't have such sports in PE classes. While now I know why we shouldn't ideally have sports sessions in PE classes, I still think we need fun activities for such classes

My second problem is to communicate learnings from the experiences to my students. I myself have learnt more from my love fe experiences than from reading or attending classes. Reading or attending classes surely increase knowledge, but learning for me has always happened when I have been able to relate the knowledge with my practical experiences. And a lot of that has happened when I have had fun with my friends- playing or doing some other things. But I also know that I learnt from those experiences because I could myself taste the feeling of going through those experiences and relating them to my knowledge. This kind of learning I find are very personal- therefore, different people can have different learning from the same experience, and it is extremely difficult to externally provide these learnings by talking about them.

Given this, I find it difficult to plan a debrief session which will act as a platform for everyone to learn from their experiences in the PE class

Sports taught me resilience, teamwork, and confidence—skills I carry with me every day. I want the same for my students through Physical Education. I hope they feel motivated, learn to trust their abilities, and experience the joy of moving. My vision is to help them develop physical literacy—the skills and confidence to be active and healthy for life. I want them to leave each session feeling stronger, braver, and more ready to take on challenges, not just in sports but in everything they do.
