More ar areas needed more teachers at school to supervise areas.<br>2. More teachers needed more students enrolled.<br>3. More students s enrolled need more familiesattracted to area.<br>This gave us our problem-&nbsp; how to attract more families which led to an investigation of current facilities and infrastructure and eventually a new town plan for the suburb. This was presented to local authorities and business representatives.</div>]]></description>

They started researching ways that humans can help prevent the deaths of aquatic life (eg marine turtles mistaking plastic shopping bags for jellyfish), and one student found information on biodegradable six pack rings.  This prompted much interest in coming up with their own ideas.</div>]]></description>

Students began to create engineering structures from some provided pictures as a start. The students now no longer require these and they have begun to develop bigger and detailed structures. They wanted to improve the school culture by fostering an inclusive environment that celebrated our Indigenous heritage.<br><br>To do this, they organised movie nights at the school. They also designed an Indigenous themes school shirt that they got approved by the P&amp;C to be part of the official school uniform. Money from movie nights was used to kickstart a crowdfunding campaign to provide as many students as possible with their very own Indigenous shirt. Over half the school now has one! All in a year's work.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>While not being a large xProblem, students discoverd during student council meetings that a number of them had not experienced a theme park visit.&nbsp; They set a goal (seemingly unreachable at the time) to raise enough money during the year to take the whole school (small school - 42 students) to Sea World as an end of year reward.<br>Students needed to think of creative and profitable fund raising ideas to hold over the year,&nbsp;in order to raise the money to cover entry tickets, food and subsidise transport.<br>Happy to announce that they achieved their goal and the whole school was able to travel to the big city and enjoy Sea World.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Increasing Biodiversity of School GroundsStudents were asked how they would improve the biodiversity of the schoolyard following a cyclone that decimated our rainforest and vegetation. Students carried out an audit of our school grounds to provide them with base data to work from. There initial project was to design and create a frog pond (as a Reef Guardian school) that would attract a variety of animals including fish as well as increase some vegetation immediately. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Students have recently studied NASA and International Space and how their inventions and medical research have impacted our lives.<br><br>So at the end of this unit I gave them this problem:<br><br>We looked at the United States Spending budget and discussed how much money is spent on NASA. <br><br>Students were then given the pie chart and then in their groups had to come up with a solution to redistribute the percentages spent on each sector of the economy.<br><br>Keeping in mind the discoveries that have impacted our lives, will they give the Science sector more money?     <br><br>The problem being - from which sector will students take the money from?  How will this effect the other sectors?  Why is there so much money spent on their Military?<br><br>Finally, they had to write up their solutions to Donald Trump (we didn't really send ) persuading him to change the budget.<br> <br>Extension: Students then created a digital presentation reaching out to Donald Trump the importance of their distribution.</div>]]></description>
