What is your biggest fear? Explain why.

My biggest fear is losing my baby. I had a miscarriage back in December 2023. We are pregnant again with a baby boy. We are due close to Christmas 2024.

What is your proudest accomplishment? Tell us about it.

My proudest accomplishment is marrying my sweet husband. I found the most perfect man and now he is all mine.

In the evening, would you rather play a game, visit a relative, watch a movie, read, or what else would you rather do?

In the evening, I love going over to visit with my grandmother. We always have such a fun time together.

What makes you laugh the most? Why?

My little brother who is 10 years old makes me laugh the most. He has the best sense of humor and a great personality. I love the opportunity to laugh with him.

What motivates you to work hard? Explain.

My husband motivates me to work hard because we are building a family together. We want to be set up for success when our son is here.

What is your favorite family vacation? Tell us about it.

My favorite family vacation was when I was a young kid. My parents had a boat and we would take it out to the lake most weekends in the summer and waterski. We would camp at the campgrounds. It was so much fun cooking s'mores around the campfire. We are so excited to make memories with our little family.

If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be? Explain.

If I could choose to do anything for a day, I would choose to sleep in, take my dogs for a walk to get coffee and breakfast, get a massage, and end the evening with dinner with my husband.

What is your favorite game or sport? What do you like about it?

My favorite game is Rummikub. I love how it brings my family together around a table and we all get to enjoy an evening together.

Career

I currently work as an On-Campus Intervention Teacher at Ridgeview Middle School. I have worked as a 4th grade teacher as well as a 7th grade math and science teacher. I just completed my 8th year of being a teacher. I work for Visalia Unified School District. I am fully credentialed and am now finishing my Master's degree.

My Family's Cultural and Linguistic Identities

My family has been influenced by California's diverse population and vibrant communities. We have been influenced by Hispanic and Native American traditions. I have pretty progressive values such as being open-minded and environmentally conscious. In my linguistic identity, I have been exposed to Californian English and valley speak. My language is often relaxed. I understand some Spanish due to taking it for three years. I am nowhere near being bilingual but can communicate with parents due to technology tools.
