This activity can be done individually or in pairs

A simple number equation will be provided and children will also be given a total of 8 pegs

Children will then have to add or subtract by following the equation for example if the equation is 8 - 2 = ?
The children will have to remove 2 pegs and count the remainder which will be 6

A simplified version of snake & ladder (up to number 25); can be played in a group). A dice will be thrown and the player will move the number of steps shown on the dice. 

When the player lands on the bottom of the ladder, he/she will advance up to the higher number. 
Eg: from box 3 to box 22
The player will then calculate the total number of steps he/she advanced. 
Eg: 3 + __ = 22
*Number blocks may be used to aid in the addition. 

When the player lands on the mouth of the snake, he/she will go back down to the lower number. 
Eg: from box 19 to box 7
The player will then calculate the total number of steps he/she descended. 
Eg: 19 - 7 = __
*Number blocks may be used to aid in the subtraction.

Being able to match numbers to the corresponding numbers. 

Children can be given solid items like bread tags or in this case flower petals. 

Since this book has a limit of 8, as the book is read, children can match the petals and place them on the circles. 

When it is subtraction, they can remove the petals. As for addition, they can add in the petals.

This activity is done individually.

A printed paper with the layout will be provided and children will be given an inkpad/paint to dip their hands into to make marks on the paper.

According to the numbers allocated on the paper, children will have to "chop" with their fingers to the respective numbers.
