1. What is energy?
- Energy is the strength and ability required to work.
- Energy might exist as gravitational potential, kinetic, thermal, electrical, chemical, nuclear, or other several forms.

2. How do we use energy?
- Energy is used every day, in every aspect of life. From cooking, driving a car, to doing a project on a computer, they all need energy.

There are two main types of energy sources: non-renewable and renewable energy.

1. Non-renewable energy sources:
- These sources of energy will eventually run out. Once they are used up, they cannot be replaced immediately since they take a long time to replenish themselves.

e.g:
+) Nuclear: we get nuclear energy by reacting uranium in a nuclear power plant. It is considered to be more environmentally friendly than fossil fuels.
+) Fossil fuels (which consist of coal, natural gases, oils, etc.) They are used on a daily basis, mostly for cooking and transportation fuels.

Advantages:
+) Easy to product and use
+) High in energy in comparison to renewable energy sources
+) Huge profit 💸💰💰
+) Affordable price (not now lol)
+) Can be conveniently transported
Disadvantages:
+) Time-consuming in producing processes
+) They emit a lot of carbon dioxide -> global warming and also cause many climate changes as well

There are two main types of energy sources: non-renewable and renewable energy.

2. Renewable energy (also called alternative energy):
- Renewable energy sources are sources of energy collected from replenishable sources.
- They are eco-friendly because they almost don't emit any waste.

e.g:
+) Sun, wind, hydro-energy: too familiar 🙄
+) Biomass: a renewable organic material that can be used to produce energy
+) Geothermal: It is taken from the Earth's core and comes from the heat generated in the formation of the Earth. It is stored in the rocks and fluid under the Earth's crust.

Advantages:
+) Won't run out
+) Less maintenance cost
+) A good number of environmental benefits
+) Save money

Disadvantages:
+) High producing cost
+) Geographic limitations
+) Not always 100% carbon-free

1. Wind energy is the largest source of renewable power in the UK.
2. Coal only generates 29% of its original value in energy. But wind power generates 1,164% of its original value!
3. Hydropower is the most widely-used renewable power source.
4. Iceland is the only place where renewable energy sources generate 100% of its electricity and heat.
5. Every hour, the sun beams enough solar energy onto Earth to keep everyone on our planet supplied with electricity for an entire year :0
