I think that the goal of the old spice commercial is to entice women to buy old spice for their spouse, or men to buy the product to attract women. This commercial uses an attractive muscly guy to attract women and to play on men to make them think that women will be more attracted to them if they use this product.

I think that the texting and driving commercial is trying to pursued teens to not text and drive. The commercial is trying to show us how accidents happen fast. The use the shots of the phone covered in broken glass to scare us into knowing how dangerous texting and driving is.

[#1. Old Spice] is a commercial advertisement that aims to sell its products. The advertisement explicitly points to a woman in the audience through a model named Mustafa, who has a soft charm. Mustafa says the man in the audience is not him. It suggests the man can turn into a man who smells the same, and with such like Old Spice scent, the audience can expect to see a successful man like Mustafa. A device that certainly seduces the audience is the scene that changes from ticket to diamonds at the end. This is because diamonds are the envy of most women and a symbol of wealth. The image of the scent of Old Spice is that of an attractive and capable man like Mustafa. It is an advertisement that induces the purchase of the audience who expects this kind of appearance. Personally, the desire to purchase did not arise in the direction they expected from this advertisement (Old Spice scent is equal with a successful man). If I recall 10 years ago when I first saw this advertisement, the rapidly changing screen was dizzying and the metaphorical expression did not fully resonate with me. However, since then, Old Spice has been a relatively high priority for me in the grocery stores. At that time, the unconventional filming technique (one-take shot) was a novelty and the image was engraved in my mind. Whatever it was, the advertisement was a success. Because they have created loyal customers, me.
[#2. Texting and Driving PSA] is a public advertisement whose purpose is to raise awareness about the dangers of texting while driving. Advertisements show a very ordinary part of everyday life. Driving, laughing and texting. However, careless texting while driving can have irreversible consequences. If she didn't check her mom's text message while driving, if she didn't reply, if she only focused on driving, like her reply, "I'll be back soon, mom" will become a reality and her daily life will continue again. My heart as a mom of a daughter strongly felt, it touched me as a very heartbreaking advertisement. As much as this mental breakdown, texting while driving is very dangerous behaviour and it is this content that raises awareness and it should not be done.

The first commercial Old Spice, is made to convince people to buy old spice. To achieve this they are attracting women, saying that if you buy this your husband will be just like me. They use an attractive man to make it more appealing to their audience.

The second commercial is about texting and driving. They are trying to persuade the audience that texting and driving is a bad thing. In order to achieve this, they put a picture in our minds, a young girl texting and driving gets in an accident, which is something most people feel horrible about. By doing this it makes us feel bad about it, and which would hopefully lead us not to doing it.

In the first ad, it is saying that using Old Spice makes you more masculine and attractive. They use an attractive man in this ad to achieve this, implying that using Old Spice will make you more like him. They also use humour to show the ridiculousness of what is being said, making people want to watch the ad because it is funny.

The second ad is showing the devastating effects of texting and driving. This ad uses sad and shocking imagery (a young girl, the sounds of car horn & tires and her broken phone on the pavement) to drive home the message of how tragic texting and driving can turn out to be.

I think the purpose of the first commercial is to persuade men to buy Old Spice products because they will be more "desirable" to women. It uses humor to convey that "this is what women really want." It convinces potential customers why they should choose their product by using generic, relatable things. An example is when he says he has two tickets to the "thing you love." This statement can be related to by a large number of people, keeping them focused and interested. It is also fast-paced which I think gives you less time to analyze the media and more prone to feel like you want or need it.
The second commercial is designed to remind drivers how quickly things can change and something devastating can happen. It shows the audience that texting and driving is very dangerous and it should be taken seriously. I believe the commercial is aimed at a younger audience because it is designed to shock the watcher, and maybe deter somebody from deciding to text and drive again.
