It held 50,000 spectators and was able to hold different type of events like gladiator challenges and theater performances.</mark> <strong>Additionally, I find the colosseum to be unique in that it had 36 trap doors which alloweed them to hold a mock sea battle and it was a central part of Roman life where people form near and far came to gather and see entertainment. </strong><em>In fact when the colosseum opened it held a 100 day festival and that sounds extravagant and like nothing I have ever experienced. </em><strong>I didn't know that it originally had a different name. It was originally called the Flavian Amphitheater. It was only in the year 1000 that Romans began referring to it as the Colosseum, due to its “colossal” size.</strong><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

It is also important because it is a symbol of power, wealth, and elevated culture of Athens. The Parthenon is Unique is for its proportion and for the way it was built. The Parthenon is the final result of a long course of development of the Doric order which began at least 250 years earlier. The Parthenon on the Acropolis of Athens was built between 447 and 438 BC as a temple dedicated to the goddess Athena. Inside the building stood colossal image of Athena Parthenos. Some facts about the topic we researched about, Parthenon is impressive because it was extensive and expensive use of marble, its grand scale, and its prominent location which defined the landscape, it was more impressive than Zeus Temple!</div>]]></description>
