Dimensions of Personality<3

Mrs. Bourke(I think that's how you spell her name...question mark...) came into our class today and take to us about the different sides of everyone's personality. it was really interesting to not only learn about my personality but also others and talk with them. The first time we split into groups it was kinda funny cause the introverts were with the introverts and the extroverts with the extroverts. We did this with the 4 factors of Myers-Briggs Test. It was interesting to see how other people who still shared my personality traits thought. They weren't all the same but had underlying connections(introvert birthday part example: we were all introverts but some of us rather stay alone well others go to a movie or some just want a small thing). On the Myers-Briggs test I was a ISFJ(Introvert-Sensor-Feeler-Judge) after taking the test. Once I read the description of what that was I realised "Omg! They must have secret powers cause that matches me perfect".It is really good to know your personality type because it explains your behaviours and reactions to such situations and scenarios and how your uniqueness can help. I t was a lot of speed-fire information but still very thorough and interactive.

Today we had one of our first assessments being Hand Washing, it was pretty easy because it's something that we've been doing since we were born(most people hopefully). Before this assessment, we learned how to properly wash and dry our hands using Glo Germ. It was only a few steps that we had to follow that were simple to follow. Rub your palms together, in between the fingers, nails and calluses, the ̈thumb crotch ̈ and wrists. We all got pretty much perfect on the assessment and it was simple and fun to do. We did the hand washing twice, the first time I did it my hands still had some germs a bit further up my wrist so that made me think that the germs aren't just on my hand(ew..). The second time I did the hand washing it was perfect(yay:D).

This project was a lot of fun to do and interesting. I figured out that there was a group/community that you could join and create in your own school/community as a youth called GSA. It was a lot of fun because I am passionate about LGBTQIA+ youth so I was so pleased to find that members of the community are taking it upon them to create a more educated and welcoming environment. I was suppose to draw a picture for this project but my brother threw it out>:( but in the end I was happy because I was able to present this project by using makeup(which I love). It was really nice to know that people in the same community were getting the acceptance and love that Holy Trinity provides to their LGBTQIA+ students.
vvv Final Product vvv

A girl(who's name I forgot...oops) came in today and talked to us about our co-op placements. She was a co-op student that had already finished her co-op placement. She talked mainly about doing something related to what you want to do as your future career. She did this because she wanted us to experience our future job so if we go in and don't like it then we can try to think about something else that we want to do in life. She also told us that we can get some pretty good opportunities with that workplace and recommendations. It was really nice to have someone come in and make us excited about our co-ops because personally I thought it was going to be a drag to have to do that for half a day everyday but I’ve been able to see it in a new light because of her.

First things first...THE AMOUNT OF TIME I SPENT PRACTISING!!! I practised for at least an hour doing all the steps of donning and doffing just to be told the next day that we weren't doing the assessment and that was later. In the end, I was annoyed but its fine. Anyways it was kinda cool doing this cause at the end of all the donning steps you looked like a real professional which was fun to see cause it wasn't all textbook work on how to do it but you actually had the experience. I thought that this was going to be a lot harder than the hand washing because of the step you have to remember but it is mainly just common sense. Just thinking about, what is the dirtiest? What goes on top of what? are your hand still clean? is it okay to let it touch the floor? and so on. It was really funny to see everyone's reaction when we went into the auditorium with all our gear on.

The carrier activity(that at least what I'm calling it) was a very short probably 5 minute long activity that we dd. Short and easy to follow instructions except for the fact that we had no idea what we were doing. You had to go around aks 5 different people a question and then drop 5 drops of water into their beaker. Easy enough, right? After we did that we were told to come to the front and the teacher put a small drop of chemical in the water. Some peoples water turned pink while others just became cloudy or stayed clear. This little activity/experiment was to show the class how easy it is to spread diseases. One person started out with the disease(Hunter) in her beaker and when she dropped some of her water into other they were contaminated. We previously already learned about this(infection Control) but it was really interesting to put it into a real life experiment. We really learned how easy it is to spread a disease and how we can prevent it in a couple ways.

At the start of Infection Control I really didn't know anything about that Unit the SHSM course or anything I was getting myself into. When we started learning about Infection Control it was pretty easy to follow along but an overwhelming amount of information. From this unit. I really did learn that going home every night and reading your notes is important and really helps so I've been trying to make a habit of that after the unit was finished. I really did think that I was going to be able to get a really good mark on the test if I just studied the major concepts but Miss put in many little things that we learned on the side which tripped me up a little. It was kind of hard to be able to separate the different kinds of bacteria and how they look and group and the shape and what they do and so on because it was all new learned in a short time. After getting back my test I took some time to reflect on what I got right and what I got wrong to figure out what I should've done rather than what I did do. I went back to all the questions that I answered wrong wrote down the right answer and said it back to myself a couple times. I did this because even tho we don't have an exam I still wanted to know the right answers to the question. I really enjoy this course and what to take in as much information in a sI possible could.

I UNDERSTAND OKAY!!! This project made me remember the chain of infection, I can literally name them in the right order and every single one(plus explain it). Even though a lot of work went into these projects it was very cool doing the process to get to the end. We first did the History Note Taking(Vitals) and we weren't just handed a sheet of paper we had to actually ask them how they were feeling and introduce yourself so they feel more welcome. From there we had to do "real" testing by figuring out what tests we should do from their vitals and history and then bringing them to the lab to see if they were positive or negative. And then from now knowing that information I had to figure out what to diagnose them with. I properly diagnosed my patient with Osteomyelitis(which I actually learned to say by the end of the project)which is a bone infection in which the bone swells, it sounds extremely painful. I did have a little difficulty with making the mobil due to on one side I had all the heavy objects(pill bottle, strawberry shortcake, glass jar of muscle tissue and blood) and on the other I had printed out picture so it was very nerve racking to hang it up hoping it wouldn't break. I also went through 12 different planning processes

The cucumber dissection was very helpful for me during the quiz. It was a fun and beneficial assessment that the class did because we were actually using the skill we learned in class for the test that is coming up. I didn't really know that much about my partner so the whole communication part of the assessment was a little difficult(cause we're all teens that don't understand what socializing is). I was having a little trouble with the 9 regions when I went into that assessment but after through practicing and talking to my partner I was able to understand the content due to using it in real life situations(even though we probably wont be disecting a cucumber again) it was still helping me with the concepts that I wasn't grasping.

This unit was a lot of fun if I'm going to be honest. I have lots of interest in biology and this is like a mini introduction into that topic. I plan on taking biology throughout my years at Holy Trinity so working hard was really important and I did a lot to study in the topic. Learning medical Terminology was probably one of the hardest part of the Homeostasis unit because there wasn't really any tricks that I could use like oral obviously mouth you just had to know the terms used. Learning the tissue and organ systems was hard to memorise but it was so cool how much you learned. There are so many thing that go on with the human body that most people don't know. Like now I know the Integumentary system and all it does and if I said Integumentary system to someone they would probably think that I am crazy or something. Besides that knowing how hard your body works every single second minute and hour of the day is really shocking and before this unit I didn't really know any of that.

Starting with the Integumentary system I learned many different topics that covered lots if not all the content of the system. One of the main topics we learned about was cancer and cancer cells. I thought that all types of cancer were the same but I was wrong. There are many different ways that cancer effects everyone for example how they start, what increases the risk of getting cancer, does it spread, how does it start and so on. Learning that if you ven have the smallest suspicion about a mole or bump or patch of skin you should get it checked our because some cancers develop slowly over time well as others attack all at once. Knowing the signs of suspicious moles I didn't know about but knowing the A(asymmetry)B(boarder)C(color)D (diameter)E(evolution) is very helpful because it is a very simple and easy way to tell if you do or don't have a suspicious mole and if you should get it checked out or not.
