JFK got elected in the middle of the cold war. Durring this time the United States and the Soviet Union were battling over who could make the most war weapons. While JFK was president the USSR installed Nuclear missiles in Cuba. Cuba was one of the closest Countries to the United states so from Cuba Nuclear missiles could be sent to anywhere in the county. JFK responded to this by putting up a naval blockade and demeaned that the Nuclear sight gets taken down.

One strategy I noticed that JFK's speech has is repetition, this is fairly easy to spot because he continuously describes how he plans on keeping the United States a safe place. As well as inspiring the people to stand up and do what they think is right for their country.
