I think this is the most important part because it kind of tells you that even though you might be in the lowest social class there is always a way that you should have a better life than what you have and that everyone should be equal because that is just the way society works or thinks.  One way i hope to realize this in my own life is not everything is going to be better or more rich than what you have and also regardless to what social class i am in that life is still the same  that everyone has it  because that is how society thinks for us humans.

The american dream has changed a lot,so what is the american dream about today? I think that the valuable part about the american dream today is that people coming together and working together. Another part of the american dream is equality among all people. One way I can achieve the dream is to always give someone help when they need it. I can keep equality by making sure people are never judging or discriminating against people based on something out of their control. The american dream can only be keep alive if people try to keep the good deeds alive.

I believe that the most important tenet of the American Dream is people finding happiness in their life. Some people may find it now or in the future whether it’s reaching a goal or playing a sport.  If no one finds this feeling in their life then they will always feel down or mad.  By us creating this, we will be a step forward to us coming together and have unity.  One way I will try to realize this is by making sure I make others happy, so then I know that I’m doing good in the world, which will make me happy.

To me I Believe that the american dream is about the people of america being strong, being equal, and living a good life. When I become an adult I would want to have a strong  foundation. I would also want that for my children when their grown up. I would also want them to live a good life and live a life that is equal. I want to make it into the NFL so that when My children are born or before their born they’ll able to apply to colleges or run their business so that they can make money and provide a strong and stable base and continue the generation in a good way. Therefore when I think of the american dream, I don’t think of utopia but I do a good stable future for me and my family.

It can be a nice little house out in the country with a squeaky front porch swing and a nice dirt road that crosses a stream with big trout in it. There would be good hunting and fishing and peace and quiet (This is what I want). You can raise up a nice Christian family there as well. A good job that you enjoy is another part of The American Dream. If you have a good job that is something you enjoy and are able to support your family you are doing well. I plan to realize these things in my life as an adult by raising a nice family with a good home out in the country and having a job that I enjoy that will support my family.

My american dream is to finish high school with good grades. Get excepted into a good college  get through with good grades and i wanna be doing what i want something i strive for i don't wanna spend the next 30 years doing something i hate. I wanna meet someone that's right for me someone he is the other half to me i wanna meet my soulmate someone who i trust and love. I wanna get a good house not too small but not too big. I want two kids and a dog. I want both of my kids to succeed in life i wanna watch them live happy and grow up and have kids of their own. Then when i am older i wanna retire and move to someone where it is always warm like florida. 

 I can achieve this by getting though school with good grades and pushing for a better life and dont date anyone if you know your not going anywhere with them.

I think the most valuable tenets of The American Dream is being able to have a smooth start. Having a stable household when you grow up will cause you to have a smooth start to adulthood. Another important tenet is being proud of what you are doing in life and not changing because your friends say you should. As an adult i'll realize that by not really caring about others opinions on my goals. I will  focus on what I want in life and not what everyone else wants me to do.

I would also have 1 or 2 cars. I would work as an engineer for most of my life until i retire. Then, once my kids are old enough to rely on themselves for everything, i would retire, live out the rest of my days staying at home, and doing old people things. My wife and I would live long enough to see my grandchildren grow up, and finally in the end i would die of natural causes before my wife would die.

From the video i agreed that by 2020, half of the americans would be freeloaders.

The “American Dream”; big houses with big cleaned up yards, your basic white family consisting of your normal mom, dad along with a daughter and son, seems to not be the “Big Dream” anymore. I believe with more technology taking place of jobs, more biracial families, bisexual parents, single parents, a lot of things are becoming the “Dream”. Less big houses are being bought with more small houses being the new normal. Now not saying any of the change is bad, but as kids, including myself, grow into a young adults it’s important to figure out how to achieve it. Which can be by being focused, working on school work, following your life by your morals, stay true to what you believe.

For example I want to wake up every morning with a smile on my face and try to never be in a negative mood. I know there are down’s in life but I want to make sure I keep a positive attitude. Also being healthy, I love my body and I don’t ever want to be sick or have something wrong with me. I’d rather die of natural causes instead of dying sick. Or even just eating right and having enough exercise and just being fit is a dream I want to keep. Lastly, being wealthy, I don’t necessarily mean millionaire rich but above the middle class. I’m not looking for a mansion or really nice expensive car but instead a big house and a not as expensive car but still luxury. I believe that I will achieve this dream if I go and stay in school, being more patient and understanding, and exercising and eating right. Starting with being in a more positive mood, I can achieve that by being patient and understanding about anything that comes in your way. Being healthy, eating right and exercising will lead me to a healthy life by eating healthy food and proportional, also by having at least 1 hour of physical activity a day will make me more healthy. Finally being wealthy, the key to success is good grades in school. Staying and doing good in school will attract colleges, and doing good in college will attract jobs that will give you a good salary and being wealthy and successful.

But the way that this woman looks at it is that you can’t always follow standards and that life is never perfect, but you just have to go with it and make the most out of what you have.

The American Dream reminded me of the Outsiders book that we read earlier this year. It reminded me of this book because they only had that group of friends as their family, their lives have been crumbling down. This speech makes me realize that we should definitely appreciate family more and don’t take our loved ones for granted. This relates to the Outsider’s because Darry basically had his life planned out and then his parents died and he had to take care of Ponyboy and Soda, and he did struggle with turning into a adult and dealing with things like a parent would because in his eyes they were still his brothers. It also made me realize that there is no such thing as living the actual “American Dream”, because Darry thought that they were living the dream, he had a scholarship to go to college and he was a star football player at his school. Then, that was all taken away from him the day his parents passed and the life that he knew was long gone.

After watching this video I now understand that the American Dream is about community, creativity, and your ancestry. In the video the speaker gave the example of when a teenager needs to talk to someone they will more likely go to someone they don’t know as well. Creativity is about doing something different or out of the ordinary. Like the speaker said she lives in a place where the community does everything together and they are much closer together than normal.  I feel that the most important part of the American Dream is setting up our next generation for success. I feel that this is the most important because we can’t spoon feed forever. There's going to be a time when we aren't here then the future is up to them, which can be pretty scary considering what we have to work with. We can help with this by first setting ourselves up for success, by doing this we can leave the next generation something to work with instead of something to rebuild. I Agreed on most of the things she said except for one thing. When she said that children in the future won't succeed, by saying this they are pretty much setting us up for failure.

There are many important aspects of the American dream. However, I believe that the most important components of the American dream are having a place to call home, and finding your role in society. Both of these can come to people in two ways. The first being people grow into them, and the second being people consciously decide to find these things. Personally, I as a person would prefer to do the first of two because it would feel much less forced, and more natural that the latter way.

I agree when the speaker says that we should be more open, and close with others. Although i disagree with her when she says that the American dream is more of a communal lifestyle rather than a personal one
