The most important part of The American Dream is when they say life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, regardless of social class. I think this is the most important part because it kind of tells you that even though you might be in the lowest social class there is always a way that you should have a better life than what you have and that everyone should be equal because that is just the way society works or thinks. One way i hope to realize this in my own life is not everything is going to be better or more rich than what you have and also regardless to what social class i am in that life is still the same that everyone has it because that is how society thinks for us humans.
Agree- people need money
We shouldn't be asking kids what they want to be when they grow up, you should be asking them how they wanna be when they grow up. We work on what we should understand about the world.
Disagree- women should work like their mothers.

I think that the valuable part about the american dream today is that people coming together and working together. Another part of the american dream is equality among all people. One way I can achieve the dream is to always give someone help when they need it. I can keep equality by making sure people are never judging or discriminating against people based on something out of their control.
Nathan Boser The most important part of the american dream is being happy where you are. You have to be happy or nothing will get better. I hope I can do this as an adult to make my life easier and more interesting. I always remind myself others have it way worse and my life would be heaven to them.

I think the most important quality of the American Dream is positivity and that the people are always positive. Things like depression and anxiety exist a lot more in 2018 so positivity is a big thing that is important to me and should be important to everyone else. If you aren’t positive then everything else in the American Dream is just boring and unhappy. I hope I realize that if I’m not happy then I can change it because I want to try to be positive all of my life. While there are some things that will be negative like death I want to believe that I will get over it and continue to live life positively. Also, I agreed with the fact that the lady said that we should stop asking kids what they want to be when they grow up, but how they want to be when they grow up.

Accept people for who they are, if they have a different race, look different, or like things that not a lot of people like. In the future people can have different opinions but be ok with that. People would be kinder and caring. I hope people realize this. America and I could learn how to do this by giving it a try and be nice to people we’ve never talked to. I think we have to accept the fact that there is other colors of skin and that people will and do believe in other things. We may not agree with other people but we certainly can accept them for who they are inside and out. I have decided that I am going to reach this bye accepting everyone. Even if I don’t like how they look, what their opinion is on something, or even if they are popular or not. I do think that I could work on accepting others more and even encourage other people to be more accepting.
Agree: People need money, what we work on is what we understand in the world, stop asking kids "what they want to be when they get older" but start asking "how do you want to be".
Disagree: We should work like our mothers.

I believe that the most valuable part of the American dream is setting the next generation up for success. Most of us aren’t set up for success we focus on wrongs, we bring eachother down, and it gets worse by generation. Americans could focus on success by keeping a open mind to who they may become and how other people will change too. More times than not we lose focus on our path to becoming successful because of being more focused on fitting in. Instead of focusing on fitting in we should focus on our rights and wrongs and learn from these mistakes instead of having it happen over and over again. In conclusion, not only should we focus on success we should also focus on how we can lead ourselves through the crazy path of it.

Agree: Stop asking kids what they want to be ask them how they want to be

To achieve the ideal dream we need to be stronger emotionally and mentally. This way people won't be as sensitive to things as they are now, which causes problems. After all is well and good as can be we should keep trying to get better. As an adult I hope I will realize that things are going down hill and move somewhere else if things don’t get better fast.

When I become an adult I would want to have a strong foundation. I would also want that for my children when their grown up. I would also want them to live a good life and live a life that is equal. I want to make it into the NFL so that when My children are born or before their born they’ll able to apply to colleges or run their business so that they can make money and provide a strong and stable base and continue the generation in a good way. We become successful by having some sort of goal and determination and being able to see a positive and equal outlook amongst your future. In my future, I hope to realize that working hard and being a good impact on others and just over all spreading positivity and having total determination towards my goal of being successful in many careers and being able to express my love however I want to.

I did agree that everyone must have somewhat of a good financial income.

The American Dream consists of very special qualities in life. For example, you have have to be bold. You must make big moves in order to achieve what you would like to do. In order to make big moves you have to give your dream your all and everything. You and others will see improvement. Next, you have to keep equality in mind. No matter what race, language, religion or the amount of money someone has, they should be treated the same. Plus, have an appreciation of where you came from. Knowing where you came from and looking up to what your family does helps invest your dream. Lastly, always believe in yourself. Have pride and believe you can do anything you dream of. I hope to realize this when there's a big problem so I can try my best to change it.

Agree :
* Stop asking kids what they want to be when they grow up. Other countries have less opportunities, women can't do certain jobs, kids can't go to school, and they follow their parents lives. In America you a woman can apply for any job, almost every kid goes to school, and we can do things differently then are parents. Also, I think the American dream is being financially stable.

I think the most important tenets of The American Dream are your family, home, and job. I think family is a major one because it is the people you love and are with every step of the way. Your family can help with things that you need them to and help you through hard times that you are going through. A home is very important to The American Dream as well. I doesn’t have to be some big fancy shmancy thing that you get lost in every time you have to go to the bathroom. It can be a nice little house out in the country with a squeaky front porch swing and a nice dirt road that crosses a stream with big trout in it. There would be good hunting and fishing and peace and quiet (This is what I want). You can raise up a nice Christian family there as well. A good job that you enjoy is another part of The American Dream. If you have a good job that is something you enjoy and are able to support your family you are doing well. I plan to realize these things in my life as an adult by raising a nice family with a good home out in the country and having a job that I enjoy that will support my family.

I agree that everybody does not have to have the same sort of house and car as everybody else.
I also agree that women do have to work harder than men to get into some certain jobs.
I disagree that kids will not fare out just as good or better than their parents will. There is so much education and things to make people better at what they do now.

I believe the American Dream involves everything to do with happiness and money. One reason I believe happiness and money are most important when dealing with the american dream is because money can buy everything. For example, if you are out on the streets and you happen to have money then you can buy yourself a house. Also, if you had money and you were living the american dream you could pay for your college tuition and not just that you can use the money to fulfill your career therefore being happy. One way I hope to realize that money and happiness are most important when living the american dream is when I am in a time of need. Whatever it maybe, if I’m homeless or need to buy something important. That will teach me to work hard for the money I need instead of letting it just come to me.

The agreements I had were: Parents think kids won't do better now than they did before. Reinvention makes america great again. Women should work like their mothers . Instead of asking what do you want to be when you grow up ask how.

Disagreements I had were: The poor people weren't the victims. Parents should make the choices for you.

Knowing that the “American Dream” is not just about white picket fences and fancy cars and homes. Money, though it is important, it's not the most important. Just because you have money doesn’t mean you’re living a good life. I’ll take this with me being an adult by working hard to make the money I need to support my family, and not waste it on what I want. Agree: What we work on we understand. Disagree: Children won’t do well in the future as adults.

I think that the most important part of the American dream is freedom and lifestyle. People move here to America mostly because they want to get away from their current country or for new and more opportunities. Another factor in this is the cultural changes and differences because of all the people moving here for freedom or for new opportunities. People can come here to live their life the way they want to and not be forced to live a different way. For example; the freedom of religion. People can come to America to believe in who or what they want to without getting in trouble with the law. One way that I am going to live this way is by accepting other people and their differences from my cultural background.

Agree: Industries are being created and falling every day.
DIsagree: Every 4.5 years people change jobs. "Work like your mother." But lots of people don't have their mothers in their lives. "How do you want to be when you grow up not what do you want to be" Kids wouldn't understand this and if you would ask someone older this then they could pick that they want to be rich when they grow up. This could mean they have a job that they don't like to work at but they do it to be rich.

I teach mythology at a local college and my mental state is good. Therefore I believe the most important parts of the American Dream is having a stable job and being in good mental health. Perhaps I believe that having a stable job is important because it’s been spoonfed to me my whole life. However, when I’m grown I would prefer to be financially stable. It should be rather obvious why mental health is so important. Personally, I value mental health above everything else and am constantly striving to improve mine. The ways I hope to achieve these as an adult is getting a good enough education to be able to do what I enjoy and fall into certain routines to keep my mental state positive.

They didn’t have to always of been together, they could be step parents and step brothers and half sisters as long as they are good to you and other people. Having good friends is important to, ones that respect you, the ones you can tell anything without a worry, the ones that will call you at 3am just to make sure you are okay. A good social status is also part of the American Dream, not being popular, but also not being the bullied kid with no friends. Having 3 good meals is vital, meals that taste good and are healthy at the same time. Being able to be yourself without others being rude over it is one of the biggest parts. I hope to achieve this by treating people around be right, to have a good job, and overall try to be a good person and make others better people.

Agree- Children now will not be as well off and happy as previous generations.
Stop asking children what they want to be, but how they are going to be what they want

Disagree- work like your mothers (Some of us don't have a good mother or haven't known our mother.)
Our fathers want to get close with their children

In the beginning america was a country of freedom so everyone wanted to be there moving from other countries that was the ideal america but now its seems like america is all about the money fame and other stuff it isn't about hard work and labor now its a bunch of bums sitting on there but and collecting deployment which is the people tax dollars but what I think american dream is. It is to for people to work harder and not sit on there butts and we can make america more advanced and more about the people thats americas dream for all of us to work together and for the people. This also brings me to my other point we can achieve this through social media or even live tv like the president if we can get the pres to say something a good leader to do it can be possible with the right person or even great numbers like a friendly protest if possible but if the people rally about that and get people to listen then its possible but it could take along time.

I agree with what she said because there are a lot of changes going on in the world.
The “American Dream”; big houses with big cleaned up yards, your basic white family consisting of your normal mom, dad along with a daughter and son, seems to not be the “Big Dream” anymore. I believe with more technology taking place of jobs, more biracial families, bisexual parents, single parents, a lot of things are becoming the “Dream”. Less big houses are being bought with more small houses being the new normal. Now not saying any of the change is bad, but as kids, including myself, grow into a young adults it’s important to figure out how to achieve it. Which can be by being focused, working on school work, following your life by your morals, stay true to what you believe.

My American dream is to live happy, healthy and wealthy. For example I want to wake up every morning with a smile on my face and try to never be in a negative mood. I know there are down’s in life but I want to make sure I keep a positive attitude. Also being healthy, I love my body and I don’t ever want to be sick or have something wrong with me. I’d rather die of natural causes instead of dying sick. Or even just eating right and having enough exercise and just being fit is a dream I want to keep. Lastly, being wealthy, I don’t necessarily mean millionaire rich but above the middle class. I’m not looking for a mansion or really nice expensive car but instead a big house and a not as expensive car but still luxury. I believe that I will achieve this dream if I go and stay in school, being more patient and understanding, and exercising and eating right. Starting with being in a more positive mood, I can achieve that by being patient and understanding about anything that comes in your way. Being healthy, eating right and exercising will lead me to a healthy life by eating healthy food and proportional, also by having at least 1 hour of physical activity a day will make me more healthy. Finally being wealthy, the key to success is good grades in school. Staying and doing good in school will attract colleges, and doing good in college will attract jobs that will give you a good salary and being wealthy and successful.

Agree: "Ask your children how they want to be not what they want to be."

Disagree: Work like your mother's

Austin Kauffman #12 The American dream, In my opinion, is a dream that all parents have. This dream represents our liberties and freedoms. Only one can dream of having the perfect life. One with a happily married man and woman. And those two having two children, a son and a daughter. With a dog or any pet in general. A wooden cross railed fence lines the yard and the porch has a set of chairs and a little table sat between them. The father comes out before the mother wakes up and watches nature come to life and watches the sunrise. I agree with this lady in the way that she says our children won’t have the same life that we did. But, I disagree because the lady said the society that our children will be in will be worse than the society that we grew up in. I disagree because if these children follow their own paths and listen to what is being taught to them they will have a better life in their eyes.

American Dream Paragraph

By:Anees Ayaz

The American Dream reminded me of the Outsiders book that we read earlier this year. It reminded me of this book because they only had that group of friends as their family, their lives have been crumbling down. This speech makes me realize that we should definitely appreciate family more and don’t take our loved ones for granted. This relates to the Outsider’s because Darry basically had his life planned out and then his parents died and he had to take care of Ponyboy and Soda, and he did struggle with turning into a adult and dealing with things like a parent would because in his eyes they were still his brothers. It also made me realize that there is no such thing as living the actual “American Dream”, because Darry thought that they were living the dream, he had a scholarship to go to college and he was a star football player at his school. Then, that was all taken away from him the day his parents passed and the life that he knew was long gone.

I believe one of the most valuable tents of the American dream is the freedom of speech. This allows us to speak freely of what we think is on our minds. It’s really important and we need to realize as we get older that we can’t just take it for granite. It’s an important aspect of our culture that many of us overlook everyday. So we should have high respect for this freedom and for it’s place in the American dream.

Agree-
Should have some sense of community. But we already have neighborhoods and cities.

Originally I considered the American Dream to be having things you want in life and enjoying your life while having no worries. After watching this video I now understand that the American Dream is about community, creativity, and your ancestry. Being in a community where you are open with your neighbors is very beneficial for your life and the people in your family. In the video the speaker gave the example of when a teenager needs to talk to someone they will more likely go to someone they don’t know as well. Creativity is about doing something different or out of the ordinary. Like the speaker said she lives in a place where the community does everything together and they are much closer together than normal. Ancestry is about knowing about the people that came before you and what they did to shape the way we think of the American Dream.

I feel that this is the most important because we can’t spoon feed forever. There's going to be a time when we aren't here then the future is up to them, which can be pretty scary considering what we have to work with. We can help with this by first setting ourselves up for success, by doing this we can leave the next generation something to work with instead of something to rebuild. I Agreed on most of the things she said except for one thing.

What I consider the most important part of the American Dream is being able to set your future. Here in America people have a choice on what job they want.Even though the job you want may be hard to get if you try your best, and have a positive attitude it could come true.

Here in America there’s jobs for crime, design, business, and all sorts of things. Some people look for a future with money while others look for happiness.I hope to realize what I want my future to be before the end of highschool.

Agree:

-people should stop asking their kids what they want to be in the future

-people won't be safe in the future

disagree:

-money doesn’t determine your future.

- that we should try to basically live a communal life.

-that women should work like their mothers

The most valuable tenets from the American Dream, in my opinion are being successful and happy. I hope to find success by becoming a mechanical engineer. I hope to continue to be happy about myself. I also hope to bring happiness to others. Those tenets are what I believe to be the most important in the American Dream.

The American dream can be interpreted in many different ways. That is a unique factor about it. The American dream, I think, is whatever you make of it. Personally, I believe that equality, and equal opportunity for wisdom, knowledge, and prosperity are the major components of the American dream. Regardless of your religion, race, language, social class, gender, or sexual orientation, you should have equal opportunity to achieve your American dream. The American dream is not one central, general idea, it is whatever any individual makes of it. I wish to achieve my American dream by gaining as much knowledge as I can, accepting the various differences in people around me, and hopefully being able to help teach people who are ignorant about the differences of others, and to help guide people to help them achieve their American dream.

Agree: People shouldn’t rely solely on their families for advice/emotional support, and should equally rely on their community (Neighbors, etc) for support.

Agree: We should not ask our children what they want to be when they grow up, but how they want to be when they grow up.
