Fishing is not appealing to me.
My father often talked about fishing when I was a child. There was no doubt that my father enjoyed fishing. On one occasion, he took me fishing at Punggol jetty. While I initially thought this would be exciting, I was quickly proved wrong when we took a long time to catch a fish. Eventually we returned home with only a few small fish caught. As fishing requires a high level of patience, I find it too slow-paced or time-consuming for my liking. Additionally, fishing requires gear and preparation, making it inconvenient. My father, however, was undeterred. He continued to enjoy fishing as a hobby, and I admire his dedication.

Some people, however, may find fishing relaxing and calming. Natural surroundings and the sound of water play an important role in reducing stress and promoting relaxation. As well as connecting with nature, fishing allows people to appreciate the beauty and diversity of aquatic ecosystems. As a challenging activity that requires skill and patience, it can be rewarding when a catch is finally made. In addition to being a social activity, fishing can also bring people together to enjoy each other's company. It can also be therapeutic, providing a sense of peace and calm. Fishing provides an opportunity to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and to reconnect with nature.

While I still don't enjoy fishing, I've come to appreciate its calming effects. It allows me to take a break from everyday life and enjoy the moment. Despite our fruitless adventure, I'm glad I joined my father on his fishing trip.

I personally prefer playing badminton to de-stress and relax. In addition to improving cardiovascular health, stamina, and overall physical fitness, badminton is a fast-paced sport, which requires players to move quickly and stay agile. A physical activity like badminton can help reduce stress and anxiety, improving mental health and well-being. Additionally, it is a fun and social game that encourages team building and camaraderie, helping to foster relationships and create a sense of community. All these benefits make badminton an ideal way to relax and de-stress. It can also be a great way to stay physically active, improving physical health and fitness. Badminton is a relatively low-impact exercise that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and fitness levels.

Hence, fishing does not appeal to me.

Think! Is this response long enough to last 2 minutes? Lack of EEEs and vocab is too simple.
Para 1: Include one prior experience with fishing that did not go well for you OR talk about how you observed other people fishing and why it may appeal to THEM and not you
Para 2: Focus on ONE leisure activity that you engage in and elaborate on its benefits; Let's say you enjoy playing bdaminton instead. So, how does playing badminton benefit you? Do you look up to a particular athlete? Who introduced the sport to you? What made you hooked to it?

yes, I do think that people work too hard and do not get enough time to relax.

Many people in Singapore have a regular job in which that would have to work 8 to 9 hours a day, Monday to Friday. This leave the weekdays full. During the weekends, most Singaporean would have to visit their parents or grandparents house as a show of respect and this would fill most of the weekends. Hence, Singaporeans are left with public holidays and the 2 weeks personal leave to relax which is only about 8% of the year. This implies that people work too hard and do not have enough time to relax. as they only have about 30 days for themselves in a year.

Another reason why i think people do not have time to relax is due to student life becoming busier. Most students nowadys are busy with school and tuition. For example, a my school life consist of having school from 7.30 to 3, in which i would have to wake up at 6 to prepare, and have supplementary lessons which starts at 4 and lasts about 2 hours. The one hour break in between isn't sufficient for me to go home and most would stay in school to study. Hence, students would finish school at 6 and it takes about half an hour to reach home. Furthermore, i would also have tuition for 2 hours and it usually takes place immediately after school. As a result, I would finish all that at 8.30 and they would have to do homework and revision which takes 1.5 hours. This would all end at 10 where i would have to sleep in order to get enough rest. Moreover, during school holidays, there is an increasing number of supplementary lessons, especially for the upper levels, which prevents the students from enjoying the holidays too. Hence, i believe people work too hard an do no have enough time to relax due to the busy schedule.

However, some may argue that there are solutions being made to tackle these issues. For example, some companies have started to look into having a 4 day work week which would leave at least one day a week for people to relax. Furthermore, some would also argue since there are more and more remote jobs that this would bring more free time for the workers. However, these only affect the minority group of people and as a whole isn't applied. Hence, I still think People are too busy and do not have enough time to relax.

I believe that people work too hard and do not spend enough time relaxing. Most people are often occupied with their jobs and school work so there is barely enough time left for relaxing. Some people even get so engrossed in their work that they forget to take a break. This mostly happens to young people due to the popularity of hustle culture. Hustle culture is when people are intensely focused on productivity and success with little regard of for rest, self care or any sense of work-life balance. Therefore, people are working too hard and do not spend enough time relaxing.

However, I also believe that people work too little and spend too much time relaxing. This is because of the development in technology. Nowadays, our phones have many application that can easily entertain us . Thats why these days most people are glued to their devices for hours. With the availabilty of such devices around us all the time, it is not surprising people get distracted and end up spending more time relaxing instead of working. Therefore, I believe that the development the development in technology are causing people to relax too much instead of working.

In conclusion, there are indeed some people who work too much or rest too little.

Yes, definitely. Living in a technologically-dominated world, we barely spare time for leisure activities that are more hands on. (??? NO LINK; technology= means people are no longer hands-on?? makes no sense) Moreover, the world's population is(are you sure about this?) situated near city areas, discouraging the interests of such leisure activities lke fishing to be cultivated.

Rewrite to this:
Yes, leisure activities like fishing appeal greatly to me. As an adventure seeker, I enjoy being in the outdoors and in the presence of nature. As society progresses, we are increasingly living in urban areas with poorly designed green spaces. In addition, digital technology, overscheduling and overprotective parenting may have caused the young to spend less time outdoors. Personally, I'm one of the minority who enjoys recreation in nature so fishing would be an ideal outdoor activity for me.

Personally, I feel that fishing is a relaxing activity that gives a sense of serenity and tranquility. It cerates <del>enables</del> a moment of peace and quietness, and instils a sense of calmness in me. This allows me to get away from my hectic lifestyle and forget about my worries and stresses momentarily, truly putting my soul and focus into the activity, which allows me to completely immerse myself in nature. <del>ease into it.</del> Therefore, this cultivates <del>having </del>the habit of deep focus, and it allows me to concentrate better when i get back into working mode.

Besides, fishing can also train my patience, as it is a laborious activity that is time-consuming. It takes resilience and determination to try different methods to get the fishes to snag the lure. With better patience, i will not be easily fazed or get worked up over trivial matters in life and in school. irritated as easily and With patience, I can have a clearer picture of the obstacle ahead of me and assess the situation better.<del> </del><del>can handle my challenges more maturely and positively.</del> This way, it grants us with analytical skills and to be able to perceive different tasks beyond a superficial level.

For example, my family first tried fishing at Changi Beach Park when i was 11. At first, i had the mentality that fishing was a boring activity that many elderly enjoy doing. I initially thought that it was too slow-paced and mundane for n active teenager like myself. However, upon experiencing it first-hand, i found out that fishing is not necessarily a boring activity, but a calming activity, Besides just waiting for fishes to take the bait, <del>be baited,</del> i enjoyed the (vocab is too simple and repetitive; I feel connected to nature as I pay tribute and give thanks to the bountiful resources that Mother Nature has provided us with. <del>peaceful and serene sound of waves flowing and birds chirping away</del>. Overall, the experience was one that could not be easily forgotten. Therefore, i feel that similar leisure activities inclusive of fishing deserve more appreciation.

Therefore, leisure activities like fishing will appeal to me.

I believe there are some people work too hard and do not spend enough time relaxing. Most people that are overworking themselves have a goal that they think by doing more, they can reach it but at the cost of their time. Time that could strain their health or relationships. Such health problems are neck, back, or chest pain, stroke and many more. This may have
repercussion on them which will affect them in the long run of their goals.

However, I also believe that there are those opposite to the people that work too much. The people that work too little and have too much time to relax. You can call them lazy due to their lack of motivation to reach for their goals, if they have set any. They drag the team down and are bad influences in some senarios. They may also cause the oppsite effect to people by forcing teammates to overwork themselves to cover for them.

Some leisure activities that my family and I engage in, are playing board games together.

My parents are aways busy with work and they have to work even on Saturdays . My brother is busy with his internship as well and myself who is taking O'levels soon have many homework to do. We all are equally stressed and in order to relieve them we have been gathering together every Sunday to play board games. It has become a tradition in our family as not only it helps relieve stress, we also get quality bonding time. I await every Sunday as I get to talk to my family and we get to share our problems and we will get consolation from each other. We also had fun times when we told each other amusing stories about what happened at work or in school and I always laughed when I heard my dad tell us dad jokes although they were moderate. As the saying goes,"Having a place to go is a home. Having someone to love is a family. Having both is a blessing". These bonding times are my favourite moments and nothing could replace it.<del>
</del>
In addition, frequenting the park is another leisure activity my friends and i do. We will go to Bishan or pasir ris park together at least 3 times a month, during the weekends or holidays, to catch-up and destress by taking a stroll, exercising, cycling, or even just walking to the Mcdonalds in the park for breakfast. As pasir ris park is close to the beach, we sometimes have picnics there together as well, bringing along a variety of mouth-watering dishes we cook from home to share among ourselves. Plus, we enjoy trying new activities at the parks such as painting, skate boarding, photography and many more, due its arable space. With the developments of park connectors, it allows the inquisitive yet adventurous lot of my friends and I, to explore the manifold parks there are in Singapore. Being in the park also allows us to feel refreshed as we are surrounded by the lush greenery, cool breeze and fresh air. Not to mention, scientific research shows that being in the park helps to improve psychological and social health. Being in the park helps us deal with the stress that are thrown to us in life, due to taxing preparation of our nearing o-levels, as a result of our packed schedules.

To conclude with a quote ,"Spending time with someone you care about is the same as loving every moment of that time". I believe that doing these these simple leisure activities with the people who hold a significant deal of love and appreciation in my life, is an excellent way to past idle time and alleviate the bonds between us. Conversely, it helps to maintain our social, mental and physical well being. Making the obstacles we face in life easier to combat, as i know that i'll go home to receive the love and support from them at any given time.
vocab is still too simple; focus on ONE activity for each party (friends / family) and write your EEEs in detail

Despite knowing that past times like fishing alone in a nearby lake is a peaceful activity which allows us to take our mind off the daily hectic life, we would not find fishing appealing. <del>This is because the time taken</del> To prepare bait and to find a suitable fishing spot is time-consuming and labour intensive. <del>find a peaceful spot in a lake which allows</del> fishing is very time consuming while the process of waiting for some fish to take the bait is very slow. This causes it to not feel rewarding for the time and effort put into the fishing preparation and fishing itself.
<del>However, fishing can vary from different people who do certain things differently when fishing. They could modify a few things that are not included in fishing, so I believe that everyone does things differently and can vary from people to people as everyone find different things that brings them joy. </del>What is the point of this paragraph? Beating about the bush!

Despite this, my grandfather seems to be fond of fishing as he often visits a place in Punggol to go fishing. He had invited me to join him when I was younger and it was a sight to behold as I saw him whistling a cheery tune as he grabbed live, squirming worms before impaling the creature on a hook attached to a line. My experience turned sour as soon as I saw that as I pitied the poor creature but it had gotten worse after he flicked the rod and left the worm to drown as he told me to wait and see where I complied. We waited for what felt like an eternity before there was any movement where at that moment, my grandfather tried to reach as fast as possible. It seemed as if he was battling the air as it seemed like an invisible force was pulling on his rod before any and all movement died. I was confused and asked "what happened?" which prompted my grandfather to look over at me with a sheepish smile before he confessed that the fish got away. His luck must have been down in the dumps that day as the situation did not get any better and when we called it a day, we left empty handed, with broken spirits and a personal disgust for the activity as I believed that it was a waste of time and cruel to the bait and the fish as the hook would have pierced the roof of its mouth and the experience left a bad aftertaste in my mouth.

However, I do enjoy visits to the park as it allows me to break away form the hectic life of a student and to just slow down and take in the surrounding scenery. I also go to the park whenever I require to think things through as it allows me to not act impulsively and make a better informed decision which I would not regret. It seems like this little hobby of mine had rubbed off on my friends as we often end up visiting the park near our meet up spot after we finish our plans to mess around and wind down after our planned event.

To conclude, I feel that fishing is not for me as I enjoy things that requires less patience and energy which are factors that makes me not enjoy fishing as whole. But this is only what I think and I am aware that many others would disagree with my opinion as I can see fishing as a way to destress while being rewarded for their patience. I do know that I am very fidgety which would make sense as to why it felt like an eternity at waiting for the fish to bite the bait.

I feel that fishing does not appeal to me.

Firstly, I do not have interest in fishing, fishing is a leisure activity that requires patience and time, something that i do not have. Therefore I simply do not have an interest in fishing and prefer other hobbies. Such as basketball. Fishing is just boring to me, I prefer hobbies that requires me to actively participate in it. For example, when my dad brought me to go fishing at the sea, I was really grumpy and really didn't enjoy the time spent there, it took around 5 minutes of waiting for the fish to finally take the bait. These waiting time makes me question why I went fishing.

Secondly, I'm a peaceful person and really do not want to harm animals, seeing a fish with a hook stuck through its mouth make me feel that fishing is very cruel. For example, when I was watching my dad reeling in the fish, there was a red trail of blood coming towards us, i was honestly very uncomfortable seeing that and questioned myself, why am i doing this to these fishes.

I would rather engage in Basketball, Basketball is a sport that does not need patience and time, it requires the person to actively participate in it, therefore that's why i like it.
Basketball has helped me to be more disciplined and strong, in terms of both mentally and physically. For example, when i went for Basketball training after school, i did lots of leg exercises to help me improve my vertical jump. 3 days after that, I was able to touch the rim, and unexpectedly was able to run even faster than before. These benefits made me think that basketball is a leisure activity that is good for both the mind and the body. Therefore basketball is a leisure activity that i would love to engage in.

Fish counter: x10

This response may not even last 30 seconds.
Think! According to a study by the American Institute of Stress, work-related stress costs US companies around $300 billion a year in sick leave and reduced productivity. This shows that most individuals do not prioritize relaxation and cannot find a healthy balance between work and personal time. Hence, this leads to negative consequences.

In my opinion, I think that a lot of people have heavy workload that result in lesser time for leisure activities they enjoy. In future, the stress level of people will stay the same or even spike and may be detrimental to our health.

This can be due to the generation gap that we have between each other, parents are still fascinated on the traditional way of thinking. That is scoring well in all academic aspect, playing the classical instruments, and not involving in unnecessary fun. Because of that, it can lead the student to study hard and work hard that could cause stress on their mental health as they have a lot of stress. Parent at this generation do not know the trend that teenagers are into. Hence, they wouldn't understand the stress or our interest. For example, many parent are disapproving teenagers who are into gaming. They believe that gaming doesn't bring them good future and because of that, many relationships between them would drop.

No, fishing does not appeal to me. Less strenuous activities such as reading <del>captivate</del> piques my interest better. Reading allows me to immerse myself <del>into</del> in a refreshing world, as compared to fishing which seems mundane. Additionally, reading acts as a gateway to truly experience the book in a the first person <del>book</del>, creating a unique, other-wordly connection to a diiferent world. <del>interesting story all around</del>. Fishing requires extreme patience and resilience as fishing can be monotonous. Furthermore, I do not enjoy sitting through boring parts of activities, for reading I can easily skip to the climax of the story. Conversely, i cannot do the same with fishing, which requires me to wait for the fish to bite the bait <del>lure.</del> Thus, I prefer reading as it is more intriguing than fishing.

Secondly, outdoor activities seem daunting to me. Imagine the feeling of the fetid stench of fish and sweat trickling down your skin under the scorching sun. For example, i went fishing once and this strong sense of discomfort became the most prominent part of the experience, ruining the fun of the activity for me.

However, some may enjoy fishing as a hobby as they could immerse themself <del>with</del> in the breathtaking scenery of nature and take the chance to escape from their fast and hectic life. <del>For example, my father indulges himself in fishing often as he feels Singapore has become a concrete jungle and too fast paced. Therefore he takes this opportunity to reconnect with nature and soak in its beauty. </del>
Q1 is about YOU; Since fishing does not appeal to you, then what is your preferred activity? 5W1H

Think! Is this response long enough to last 2 minutes? Lack of EEEs and vocab is too simple.
Para 1: Include one prior experience with fishing that did not go well for you OR talk about how you observed other people fishing and why it may appeal to THEM and not you
Para 2: Focus on ONE leisure activity that you engage in and elaborate on its benefits; For example, let's say you prefer hiking. How does hiking benefit you? Did you fall in love with trekking during your first hiking experience? Who introduced the sport to you? What made you hooked to it?

No, fishing does not appeal to me. For example, my uncle was an avid aficionado of fishing. I vividly recall him attempting to ignite the same passion he had for fishing within me. Once, he had brought me to Bedok jetty to fish. Firstly, before we began we set up our lawn chairs and sat down, hooking the squirming and slimy bloodworms on the hook. That day, we spent the entire afternoon under the radiant and scorching sun waiting for the fish to finally fall for the bait. Despite the humid environment and tedious preparation, my uncle had a permanent elated expression throughout. To him, holding that fish, which took him an insufferable amount of time to catch, was more than enough to reward him for his efforts. Additionally, he always preached on the importance of reconnecting to nature, rambling on about how i should relax and enjoy the tranquil scenery and breeze when fishing. However, I digress, I was never a nature lover, to me, plants and the ocean are just places. Although my uncle may differ, i have never felt a calling to nature and felt that in comparison to my daily life, spent at school and home all day, nature seemed very foreign and alien. Thus, I could never find this mentioned beauty in nature and savour it. Furthermore, the slimy and filthy process of preparing worm bait was a putrid process., which rattled my five senses. The image of slithering worms in its container, the putrid stench, loud sliding and grotesque feeling had etched itself into my mind the whole time while fishing, which had grossed me out for the majority of the experience, ruining what joy i might have seen in it. Furthermore, the long hours spent in a stifling and hot environment made my skin itch, my muscles ache and caused immense sweating. In conclusion, the environment and conditions fishing demanded made me feel a prominent sense of discomfort and utterly ruined my impression of fishing. Thus, I would not like to fish.

Secondly, I prefer less strenuous activities such as reading as it piques my interest better. In my day to day life, I frequently spend my time at home or at school surrounded by academic material and the common stresses teenagers face. This consistent routine of work proves monotonous over time and inaugurates this sense of claustrophobia, the consistent feeling that im trapped in this constant, repetitive cycle. As such, I love indulging myself in activities that help me to destress. Fishing demands a lot of effort and time to be put in for preparation and the action of fishing itself, as a student, i do not have the luxury of spending time and effort freely. Furthermore, the idea of fishing seems daunting to me, fishing is physically demanding as it calls for one to bear the notorious Singaporean weather. Thus, this does not seem like a relaxing or suitable activity to me. In contrast, reading possesses one major advantage, I can read anytime I want and for any duration I prefer. Thus, reading is easier for me to incorporate into my packed schedule than fishing. On the other hand, reading is also not as physically demanding as fishing, i can simply sit back and relax my body and mind after a strenuous day. Furthermore, reading allows me to immerse myself in a refreshing world, reading acts as a gateway to truly experience the book in the first person perspective creating a unique, other-worldly connection to a different world. To sum it up, reading revitalizes my spirit as it acts as this escape from boring reality, recharging my mental battery. Thus, I prefer reading as opposed to fishing

NEW VERSION

Firstly, one leisure activity that I can engage my family in is visiting the park and playing soccer together. There are many activities one can do at the park, both alone and with others. I could have a picnic, play some sports or take a peaceful walk. Out of so many options to choose from, my personal favourite activity is to partake in Football. As an athletic person, I really enjoy running around and just breaking a sweat. I remember, vividly, running around on an open field and playing football with my brothers. We would occasionally visit Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park to play together. My brother and I would team up together against our parents in a football match. I remember my brother and I working together cohesively to beat our parents. We would shout loudly in excitement every time we scored a goal. I started developing an interest in playing football at the tender age of 6. My father, who played for the Lion City Sailors Football Club in his prime, introduced the sport to me and my brothers. By hook or crook, he would play football with us, teaching us the fundamentals of kicking, dribbling, passing and everything else under the sun that would help hone our skills. Occasionally, our dear mother would join us in our training-bonding sessions and we would all have a whale of a time as a close-knit family. Through our regular engagement in football that made us run around, hot on each other’s heels, football has given me and my loved ones our fair share of exercise, keeping us fit and in shape, out of the grasp of obesity and keeping sicknesses at bay. The time I have spent with my family, playing football, has been a source of incredible joy, bonding and exercise, and has translated and etched itself into my mind as one of the most prized memories up till now.

Secondly, some leisure activities my and friends engage in is playing music together. I picked up the guitar in Secondary 2 as I was influenced by a Japanese band and I wanted to learn how to play my favourite songs, which were written by them. Nonetheless, with perseverance and determination, I managed to overcome the difficulties and gradually became proficient. As a result, I met new friends who could play other instruments which diversified my own musical endeavours as I learnt more about the functionality of different instruments. We bonded through our mutual love for Music as we formed impromptu bands for jamming sessions. We would use it as an outlet to destress and show our prevailing emotions by selecting relevant songs; whether we were feeling at a loss or in a state of euphoria, we would still play it together as it just gives us this dosage of dopamine.

A memorable instance was when my friends and I came together to form another band to play a piece for our Values in Action project aimed as a form of entertainment for migrant workers. We chose 'A Hard Days Night' by the Beatles as the migrant workers are laboriously working for our country to build whatever we are standing on right now. We recorded it and submitted it as a part of the project. Throughout the recording, we shared about ourselves a lot, and cracked numerous jokes about our school lives and what we planned to do after secondary school.

OLD VERSION

Firstly, one leisure activity that I can engage my family in is to visit the park.

I agree that people work too hard and do not spend enough time relaxing.

Firstly, most students are caught in a hyper competitive atmosphere where they are expected to study for extremely long hours with little breaks or rest in between. In modern times, most secondary and tertiary school students have long curriculum hours and their free time are being increasingly used up on their studies. For example, many secondary and tertiary school students curriculum start at 8 am to 3 pm. However, most of these students have extra lessons that last one to two hours. Moreover, their co-curricular activities takes up another 3 hours. As a result, many students only reach home at 6 pm and they still have to complete their homework and revision. This causes many students to stay up late and not get sufficient sleep. Thus, they do not receive enough time to rest as they have to be competitive with other students.

Also, most students face an immense pressure from society and their parents to perform well academically to attain a job with a high income. Due to such expectations and demands from society, they would feel like a letdown a disappointment bad if they were not be able to meet their expectations and to let their parents down, so they study significantly more to perform their best. However, that leaves them very little time to relax.

I strongly agree that we work too hard and do not have enough time to relax.

As teenagers , we are faced with immense pressure to do well and to succeed academically . Thus , we feel the need to work very hard in order to meet these expectations, leaving little time aside for relaxation and leisure activities.
Firstly , many parents have high expectations for their children's academic performance. They may believe that good grades are necessary for success in the future and may encourage or push their children to perform well academically, leaving their children with little freedom , and time to no time to relax or enjoy themselves . For example, during tests and exams , we feel the need to meet the expectations of our parents . If we fail to do so , our parents may put more pressure on us and hence , we are unable to set time aside to do what we desire.

On average, students in Singapore spent a total of 50 hours a week studying, with 28.6 hours devoted to classes in school and 22.2 hours to additional out-of-school study. This clearly shows that students , teenagers , are too preoccupied with their school work and do not have the opportunity to loosen up and relax. Futher more, homework is given to us for further revision. This causes us to spend more time strengthening our understandings of the concepts taught at school , thus we are cooped up at home. Despite a long and tiring day of school, we are still unable to have a brief moment to unwind.

Without a doubt , As a teenager myself, i also feel tremendous pressure as i strive to finish all the given work provided by the teachers, and at the same time find time to study for my upcoming exams . More often than usual , I always worry about not being able to finish my homework, hence I do not go out frequently and i barely have the time to de-stress.

Secondly, working adults are also occupied with a great deal of work, and does not have have enough free time for themselves. Research has shown that employees work about 44.2 hours per week on average. Some working adults may even work overtime to finish work that they could not finish, and thus burn the midnight oil to finish it. This leaves them a short while to pursue their own hobbies. Adding on to the stress, some may even have kids that require their care and attention.

However, others may think that since our phones are with us 24/7, and we are always looking at it, it is counted as leisure time. Some may even claim that we are slaves to our phones. Although , the usage of the internet may be required for our daily work . Hence it is not necessarily true that phone usage is considered as leisure time , but more so , a tool to guide us in our work .
With the rise of social media, people have more opportunities to share their leisure activities with others. This can create the perception that everyone is constantly playing and having fun, while work is something that people only do when they have to , but that may not be the case. Thus this misconception

The society today is becoming more work based. Many aspects of our society seem to prioritize work and productivity. With the rise of technology and globalization, many people feel pressure to work longer hours and be constantly connected to their jobs.

Overall, while it's important for everyone to work hard and strive for success, it's equally important for them to prioritize relaxation and self-care in order to maintain their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Hence, i agree that people work too hard and do not have enough time to relax .

vocab still very simply and content is not developed

Yes I agree that we work too hard and do not spend enough time relaxing.

Firstly,<del> on academic wise,</del> academically, there is a lot of workload, like homework and revision and especially if one do not plan their time well, the chances of getting a good grade may not be high. For example, we go to school from 0730 to 1500, sometimes we would have extra classes to help us to improve our grades, by the time we reach home, we still have to attempt the questions our teachers gave us as homework and do our own revision of topics we are unfamiliar with. We spend hours working to get satisfactory grades however sometimes our parents may not agree with us and may push us to work even harder to do better or at times it could be us having conflicts on our own, setting too high expectations that we are unable to achieve spending more time and effort putting our heart and soul into school, leaving us with no time to relax, or even go out to unwind and enjoy the beauty of mother nature. On the other hand, we cannot just focus on working our mental strength, we need to take care of our physical bodies so that it can handle the rigor of examinations and normal daily life whereby we need to find time to exercise so as to strength our own bodies and ensure that they are in optimal conditions. Taking care of our bodies can be as simple as going for exercise or having sufficient sleep. It adds more pressure to us and increasing our workload each day. How i wish time would wait for me to complete all my tasks before I sleep. Hence, why I feel that we work to hard but we don't spend enough time relaxing.

Secondly, government encourages a work life balance to every individual, however I feel that he is contradicting himself. As the government promotes a work-life balance work booths at waterway point by switch shows another perspective, in a way whereby, there are mini booth that acts as a small space for people to work in them, doesn't this shows that people who shops may need to continue to work too? I feel they are like overworking their employees as people are unable to do their own necessities properly and they have to work around the clock. These booths are quite popular in attracting people to go and work in the mall, which i feel that they are working too hard when they could spend time at the mall enjoying themselves. Hence, I feel that people work too hard and lack of time for themselves.
So your counterargument is only ONE example of people working at waterway point? wow
However, others may argue that there is time for to relax even with a hectic schedule. How you may ask is fairly simple, well having a good time management is an important skill, as one is able to use their 24hour wisely. For example, instead of spending wasting an hour waiting in the train to bring them home, they can take the time to unwind, rest and relax the brain from a long day in school or work by listening to music or closing their eyes on the train which saves time. As a result, by using small pockets of time to do mini thingy's like reading a chapter or resting or reading a news article helps to save time and gives them a chance to relax and recharge their minds which is why even though they work hard they make an effort to find time to relax.

Therefore, I agree that we work too hard and do not spend enough time relaxing. Personally, I feel that we as humans work too hard at the same time we need to find time for us to relax so that we can destress our minds from everything that we have experienced through. I hope in the near future that we work smart and more efficiently so as we can get our well deserved break and learn to live and enjoy life. I feel that no one would be keen on working their whole life without resting.

Personally, leisure activities such as fishing does not appeal to me. From my experience, i am inclined to see it as a waste of effort and time due to the waiting and uncertainty of whether i will end up with any catch at all. I remember heading to the beach to fish with my primary school friends 3 years ago. Many hours have gone by and I'd still caught nothing. Though i had my friends' company, the restlessness and boredom in the Singapore heat got the better of me, and I could not shake the feeling of regret at not having chosen to spend my time doing something, or anything else. By the end of the excruciating 7 hours, I indeed caught nothing and openly expressed my annoyance at wasted the day away. My friends, on the other hand, seemed to hold different sentiments .They shared that the time spent fishing was mostly peaceful to them, and was a space for them to reflect. While I do appreciate activities that could help me relax in a similar manner way, i prefer to do so from the comfort of my own home, with things like listening to music , especially classical music.
It'd be good if you elaborate on your preferred leisure activity: listening to classical music
Needless to say, that was the last time i joined them to fish, but at least i got to try it out.

Think! Is this response long enough to last 2 minutes? Lack of EEEs and vocab is too simple.
Para 1: Include one prior experience with fishing that did not go well for you OR talk about how you observed other people fishing and why it may appeal to THEM and not you
Para 2: Focus on ONE leisure activity that you engage in and elaborate on its benefits; Besides comparing it outdoors vs indoors, how does listening to classical music benefit you? Do you look up to a particular artist / musician? Who introduced classical music to you? What made you hooked to it?

Check! Is your response answering the question or are you simply talking about so many activities without elaborating, explaining, and focusing on one example? This sounds like a complaint session about how you have enough time to pursue your multiple hobbies.

Focus on ONE activity that your friends engage in. 5W1H, EEE; study my example below:

One activity that my friends and I engage in is badminton. I was first introduced to the sport by happenstance. I was clueless as to which CCA to choose in Sec 1 and my friend suggested badminton out of the blue. We showed up for the trials without any prior experience but we remain unfazed even when we went up against players twice or size. We played with heart and the coach took notice of us. Soon, the rest is history and badminton is now an integral part of our lives. Badminton is great way for us to socialise, maintain physique and tone our muscles. It builds both our physical and mental endurance, reducing the risk of hypertension and other health problems later on in life.

Most of my friends enjoy playing music games for leisure, which are interests i share as well. These common interests are great for us to bond, especially over the weekend and during the school holidays when we all want to just catch a break. Over long breaks, my friends and I can spend full days chatting on Discord or whatsapp while we play Clash Royale, Call of duty or Pub-G together. The shared frustrations and sense of accomplishment when we go through the games together really brings us closer. We also enjoy meeting to play badminton. While some of us are part of the school's badminton team. it is a different experience when we play recreationally, as there isn't the pressure of preparing for competitions, and we can simply fous on having a good time

As for my parents, most weekdays, they come home rather late after work, and prefer to watch television together. After a hard day's work, they prefer to sit back and relax , and not overwork themselves. As I am usually busy with school work and CCA on the weekdays as well, it's quite unfortunate that we do not get to spend to much time together. However, we try our best to make up for it over the weekends where we make time to have meals with one another. Something we enjoy doing is trying out new eteries or cooking new dishes, and it is a good way for us to spend quality time.

This should be the last paragraph--> Most people today work long hours, and are often left with little time left for relaxing. While hard work and dedication are essential for achieving success and personal goals, overworking can lead to stress, and other negative outcomes. Studies have shown that taking breaks and engaging in relaxing activities can have many benefits, including improved mental health, increased productivity, and enhanced overall well-being. However, it's important to note that different individuals have varying definitions of "too much" work or "enough" relaxation. Therefore, it's important to find a balance between work and leisure that works for each individual.

I Agree that we spent too much that we spend too much time starting and not enough time relaxing as O level students There's a lot of pressure on us to do well in our people and get higher than other schools so we can get good marks get good marks and be on the better side of the bell curve. All ever put us in a position When we have to try our hardest to make sure wwe then we do not get beatbox so we can get into so we can get into a good toshi education cost that we what's the V-1 and already for it When we have to try our hardest to make sure wwe then we do not get bad marks so we can get into so we can get into a good tertiary education course that we want and ready for it For example me personally I studied 3 hours A-day and have About 2 hours of break so I spen more time than actually relaxing

Another reason I agree that I spend more time studyinh than relaxing Is that we spend too much time in school too much time in school compared to how long compared to how long out there is In 24 hours we spend at least 7 hours sleeping 8 hours in school This Leaves us with 9 hours of the day left Some of these time is left is left for eating showering showering and spending time with your family And commuting Please then leave us with Barry anytime for relaxing If all I agree that we spend too much time studying and too little time relaxing

full of spelling errors and this sounds like a complaint session

However I also disagree that we spend too much time studying and too little time relaxing In one year of school there is plenty of holidays Make the best out of there are also weekends and fridays that we only have half days in

In my opinion, I agree to a certain extent to the statement above.

One of the reasons we agree is because I think we live in an over-competitive society. As such, one would need to constantly evolve, learning new skills, just to get a job. While constant learning is not necessarily a bad thing, having it be the only means to get a job can be tiring, and the act of leaning can take up vast hours of time. Upskilling courses on MySkillsFuture can range anywhere from 8 to over 36 hours, from what I've seen. These courses can eat up at whatever free time one has after their own working hours as they are usually part-time. Hence, just a little bit more of a person's week can be taken up just to get a job in this competitive society. you just contradicted yourself and why are your promoting SkillsFuture so much here?

While that applies to the working adult looking for a job, the average student may have a lot on their plate too. After their usual curriculum ends, it is very likely that students are exhausted or have even more activities in their day. This is especially true for students in highly-competitive sports CCAs, like basketball or badminton, or physically demanding arts CCAs like dance. Furthermore, these CCAs usually take place more than once or twice a week. The average students after these CCAs are probably worn out and may not be in the right state of mind to do thier homework or study, let alone relax. As a result students may have too many school commitments to take care of first before they have time for leisure activities.

However, I do believe that sometimes, people lack time management skills, especially students. At times, students can prioritise and overindulge on their leisure activities like gaming, and lose track of time. As a result, they fall short on work, and this effect can snowball until the student piles up a massive backlog of tasks to complete, leading to them feeling like they haven't time to relax, although it is completely their fault.

incomplete format; you should include your own personal examples

No, Leisure activities such as fishing do not appeal to me. As a person who cannot stay in one place for too long, fishing does not interest me as it requires a long period of sitting and waiting just for something to grab the hook that you have thrown out. I personally would prefer activities that allow me to move around as I do not have the patience to wait for too long. Besides the long wait for fish, the thought of staying in the hot sun for too long and having a lot of sweat further discourages my will to try this activity.

If I were given a choice , I would choose to play badminton or do some jogging as those allow me to move around in my own free will. Furthermore, these activities also can be carried out just at a nearby field, which makes it more convenient, compared to having to go to a specific location to fish.

One activity that I do with my family is badminton. As my parents want me to exercise for a while every weekend, we would go out to a nearby park to play badminton, as well as occasionally take a walk through a park. I thoroughly enjoy these activities as they allow me to spend some time away from my schoolwork, and it is also a good way to get exercise especially considering that I have little time to exercise after school.

Another activity that I do with my friend is a rather interesting hobby that I have recently picked up. As my friend and I were both in the National Cadet Corps, we were introduced to a performing art known as Precision Drill Squad, which involves doing impressive and skillful tricks using a dummy rifle or a stick for a performance. Eventually my friend and I begin to get more passionate about this activity, and we would occasionally come together to do this activity using our self made sticks, and would try out some stunning tricks that range from moderate to extremely difficult and high-level. We enjoy doing this activity as it is fun to try out a hobby that sticks out from others, which allows us to make a simple flow with the stick which we would sometimes sync to music.
Doing these activities allows me to not only become more fit, but also allows me to spend more time with my friends and family.

Vocab is still too simple; not Upper Sec level
This is definitely too short; lack of EEEs
P1: Who introduced you to badminton?

In my personal opinion, I partially agree with this statement.

In a busy world like now, we have to spend most of our time doing work and leave less room for relaxation as we get older. Because of this, I agree that having little to no time to relax can be quite a bad thing as we would get very stressed over the number of things that we would have to fulfill, such as schoolwork or preparing for an upcoming exam. This means that we get little rest time and sometimes it can be quite a waste, as you would eventually be on the verge of death and you would realise how dull and boring most of your life was.

However, there is a quote that stands out to me which mentions "suffer now, enjoy later". This quote is rather meaningful as it implies that although we may be taking a large amount of time up through our academic commitments, we would eventually be rewarded for our hard work and will have a easier life later on. Because of this, I cannot say for sure that we spend too much time on work and rest little as there may be times where we get good rest out of all our hard effort being paid off.

In conclusion, although work can sometimes be quite a bore and makes our lives seem pathetic and worthless, there may actually be something at the end which is worth working for.

i dont want to mark this because youre not following the format! it's so short!

Fishing is not appealing to me at all,to me activities like fishing doesn't any grips on me, fishing is a activity which test your patience.Fishing is like running maraton both of them require the same thing - perserverance ,in able to catch a fish,u might need to hold on to one position for hours long as once u move this might scared the fish away, during this proccess of waiting for fish to swallow ur hook,u might become the the mosquito buffet restaurant. However after hours of patient waiting u can get a unsatisfactory result that no fish hooked, therefore to me the activity fishing seems like a totally waste of time,so I won't find this activity appealing and will never enjoy it.
another reason why i feel it is not appealing is that, fishing is a stupid gamble that u will never win or gain anything from it,why do I say that? because in many country including Singapore there's many restriction toward fishing especially toward what type offish that is allowed to fish on,around the Singapore sea there's about 2,000 species of fishes and out of 2,000 more than 500 are under law of protection, this might not seem a lot to u but by probability out of 4 fish that u caught there are at least one of them are under the law of protection,u had no choice but to return them back to sea,by experience fisher u at least need more then 1 hour to caught one fish this mean that u waste one hour for nothing, futhermore one hour is only estimated timing for expert fisher and during this one hour of waiting u need to withstand the bite of insect, to me i feel i had gain nothing from it except full of mosquito bite, therefore i called it a stupid gamble that u will never win,and this is nothing appealing.
However, in other pespective fishing can be appealing to them as to them it is a relaxing programme that they can perfectly spend their afternoon timing.it is also fun to watch a fish eat the bait bit by bit and in the end bite on the hook. to them fishing is a interesting proccess and the moment they catch the fish it feels like a honour that worth showing off, therefore they find it appealing

One leisure activity that my friends engage in is basketball. As my friends are regular watchers of the NBA, supporting their favourite player, and dreaming to play like them. Once my friend spent 2 hours just shooting 3 pointers as he wanted to shoot like the legendary point guard, Stephen Curry. Spending that much amount of time doing the same thing over and over again, shows that my friends is really passionate about improving themselves in basketball.

i feel that teenagers generally show the same views. For example, every time i go to my nearest basketball court to play, i always see lots of youth playing basketball there, practising shooting, playing a 3v3 and even practising their ball handles.
Seeing lots of youth playing basketball every time i go to the court made me think that the youths in Singapore are really passionate about basketball, spending their free time to play basketball instead of staying at home and watching YouTube.

Therefore i feel that my friends engage in basketball as a leisure activities.

a leisure activity that i personally engage in is basketball. I first got into the sport because of my friends impromptu decisions, it was in secondary one and we had to decide which ccas we were going to join. Although my friends were not the most athletic bunch, we went for the basketball trial and to my surprise i actually enjoyed the sport and got accepted into the cca. Ever since then, ive been playing basketball day in and day out, as i view it as a way to have fun or pass time when im stressed or bored.

Besides, basketball has a plethora of health benefits. The highly intense sport that requires you to run constantly helps people to keep in shape and help u stay away from medical problems such as diabetes or stroke. According to a study in 2019, basketball was shown to be directly correlated to the growth of healthy and strong bones in your body. Secondly, it also helps you develop teamwork skils and learn how to work with each other in a team.

But i think that many others would feel that basketball is not their cup of tea, as basketball is a sport that is very tiring and requires much agility and discipline to get good at. Other than basketball, a leisure activity at my family personally engages in is cycling. they frequently like to cycle along the trails of east coast park. i feel that it is a great activity as it is beneficial both mentally and physically, my family members claim that cycling helps them stay free of the stress that they are under and keep them in shape at the same time.

Most importantly, a game of basketball helps me keep in touch or even build friendships with other people. therefore basketball is a leisure activity that i personally engage in

No, leisure activities such as fishing do not appeal to me. This is because I believe that it is a huge money and time sink where it both has a high cost and is very time-consuming. I'd have to spend quite a bit of money on the equipment I'd require to begin my fishing journey not to mention that if I were to further pursue fishing as an avid hobby, my previous equipment would require upgrades. I have a fishing equipment shop near my house that I'd visit on a whim out of curiosity. The few times I entered that shop, I had my socks blown off by the absurd prices that would be required to buy otherwise ordinary sticks with a few slots to fit a thin string over, the prices of the strings were not anything to shrug at either with each spool costing around $40 each. With prices like that, even people who were willing to try fishing as a hobby would be pushed away as the price was all too steep to be justifiable for lower-quality "beginner's" gear. As a result, I am not interested in plunging into high quantities of money to have a shot at fishing which I might not end up enjoying.

The other factor I brought up is the time taken in the fishing process. From what I've seen, fishing involves the deft art of being content sitting in the same position and cracking open an ice-cold beverage to pass the time before a fish bites the bait. This, respectfully to those who enjoy the fishing process, seems like the dullest thing I could do with my time. I stare at a screen and type on a keyboard as a form of amusement and it seems that even coding would require more physical movement than fishing while still being more productive and fun than fishing. Not to mention, I can't seem to stay still which means that in a hobby where you have to stay still to not alert the fish, my constant fidgeting would be akin to alarm bells under the sea, warning the fish of the dangers in the area. As a result, I believe a hobby such as fishing is very ill-fitting for a person with little patience and self-control such as myself.

Despite all of my sentiments on fishing, I am well acquainted with people who seem to fish every week. When questioned as to what they enjoy about fishing, they have not failed to bring up how invigorating the whole experience is and how good it feels when their time spent waiting and preparing is finally met with the prize of a big fish. They also did not fail to mention how safety is important when handling the fish caught as I vividly remember my friend recounting to me how ecstatic he felt after catching a huge catfish, which I later found out was illegal in Singapore, before one of its 'whiskers' punctured his left thigh as he failed to hold it correctly before he abruptly concluded his story with "but apart from the rare cases like that, the entire experience is very refreshing."

Considering all those facets, I think the hobby of fishing is just not the correct fit for an impatient, enthusiastic person like me however I do wish to try fishing at least once so that I can say I had done it before and maybe to attain the rights to boast about how I caught a fish in my first try.

(Thank you for your time.)
