When it comes to learning, I really enjoy using textbooks, but I don’t like writing very long texts. My favorite movies are Catching Fire and Pride and Prejudice (the 2006 version). My favorite book is also Pride and Prejudice, and my favorite singer is Taylor Swift.

Now, after five years, I'm having one of the best moments of my retirement because I'm studying and doing only what I love.

Since I was very young, listening to music and reading have always been my favorite things to do in my free time.

I remember spending hours listening to Gaucha's rock bands on the radio, like TNT, Papas na Língua, Os Cascaveletes, etc.

I've read so many works of world literature, but none of them have had as much of an impact on me as Gabo's "Cien años de Soledad ."

Among other activities I do these days, I include physical exercise like Pilates, walks in nature, and more than ever, I love to travel.

I live in a beautiful house in the south of Poa with my faithful companions Biscoito and Chico, two Yorkshires and they are like children to me.

This is basically me: a joyful person who is always trying to learn about new cultures and discover new places and countries.

My name is Liliane and I've lived in Florianópolis for almost 7 years. I've a degree in Business Administration from UFRGS and currently work at UFSC. I've been officially married for 3 years, but we've lived together for at least 16 years and now I'm pregnant with a boy.

My favourite films are Mamma Mia! and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. I don't have a favourite singer, but I like specific songs by different singers (or can we say that my favourite band is ABBA?).

I currently live in Alvorada, but I will soon be moving to Porto Alegre to live with my boyfriend. I like Alvorada because it is an affordable city, although I recognize that everything is often a little far away.

I am also very interested in learning English. I think it's amazing to see my progress as I discover new words, and am able to understand the songs I listen to and the TV shows I watch in English. Still, I find it difficult to consolidate my fluency in speaking, which sometimes holds me back. In fact, I usually learn English by watching my favorite TV shows: Friends and The Office. My favorite book is The Book Thief, and my favorite band is Imagine Dragons. I hope that this brief introduction has helped you get to know me a little better! ✨🩷

My name is Érika and I'm 21 years old. I'm from Feliz, a small city in Rio Grande do Sul, but I moved to Porto Alegre in 2023 to attend college. Although I've adjusted to life in the big city, I still miss the peaceful lifestyle and the sense of calm I always felt in my hometown. I'm currently in the sixth semester of Pharmacy at UFRGS and I love studying chemistry and biology.

In my free time, I enjoy watching series, listening to music, and reading books. It's hard for me to choose just one favorite book, but my preferred genres are mystery/thriller, fantasy, and romance. Some of my favorite movies are Twilight, Pride and Prejudice, and Harry Potter. I also love listening to Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams, and Noah Kahan.

I'm very excited to keep learning and improving my English. I usually practice by reading books, watching series, and listening to music. Unfortunately, I still find speaking a bit challenging, so I’m looking forward to practicing more and gaining confidence.

My name is Graziela, I'm 34 years old, and I currently live in Viamão. I have a degree in Library Science and, until recently, I worked in a school library.

I’ve just accepted a new challenge in my career and started working in a different department. I’m still working at the same school, but now I’m part of the educational technology team, a field that’s both challenging and surprisingly fun.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, going to the movies, and watching series. But lately, my favorite hobby has been playing video games.

It’s hard to pick favorite books or movies, but the Harry Potter and Twilight sagas (both books and films) are very special to me because they bring back great memories.

When it comes to music, I’d say my taste is pretty eclectic. On random mode, my playlist might go from Caetano Veloso to Beyoncé, from Rihanna to Marisa Monte, and from Taylor Swift to Anitta.

I joined the course through placement last semester, and it’s been my first experience with an english course. Until then, my knowledge came only from school English classes and what I had studied on my own. It’s been a truly meaningful experience, and I feel it has helped me with something that has always been challenging for me: speaking in English.

I moved to SC in 2022 for my job. I work at a veterinary laboratory.

I don't have much free-time for hobbies, but on the weekend I have slept many hours. I like to watch some movies or series on Netflix, or videos on YouTube. I like run on the street and I'm trying to read more (maybe an English book).

I love coffee and eat some delicious cake, or something sweet, in the bakery. Further, I custom watch séries in English to improve my listening.

My favorite movie: I don't have, I just hate horror (I don't like to be scared).

About Music: i like pop music, my favorite singer is Beyoncé queeeen 🐝, but the brazilians songs are really great too (i love Alcione too).

My name is Toulouse, I'm 27 years old, but almost 28 because my birthday is in October. I have a degree in History from UFRGS and now I am writing my master's thesis and starting a Geography degree at the same university.

I've been teaching for five years, but not yet in schools: I'm one of the many History teachers in UFRGS's popular college preparatory course, PEAC. Today, I also work as a genealogical researcher, aiming to identify the ancestry of many families seeking citizenship.

In my free time, I love watching series or playing video games, especially on weekends. My favorites are mystery or supernatural phenomena, like From, Dark, Lost, and Stranger Things.

As for music, I love rock and roll and metal: the heavier the music, the more I enjoy listening to it. People like to say, "It's good to listen to calming music in the morning," but when I hear that, I sit in the car and blast Metallica, Guns and Roses, or Rammstein.

I started learning English because it's extremely important for everything, for life! I still have a lot of difficulties, especially speaking, but I hope to finish the course with much more knowledge of the language.
