Works:
-Boy (2010)
-Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016)
- What We Do In The Shadows (2014)
-Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Taika Waitit is a director from New Zealand, he is most known for his directoral role in Thor 3 and hunt for the wilderpeople. The majority of his works are indie comedies, and he has a distinct style that mixes comedy with realistic tragedy.

Taika makes his films look beautiful effortlessly, the shots are always simple (not lazy) and make everything in the frame look more still and peaceful. Without any unnecessary action and movement in the shots Taika successfully makes his films more realistic, they are very easy to watch as they are full of lifelike behaviour, and lifelike scenes (things that are commonly seen everyday). His style of filmaking strips back the drama and improbability that is seen in most movies, which leaves a very beautiful film that is reflective of real life.

Works:
- Shaun of the Dead (2004)
- Scott Pilgrim VS the World (2010)
- The Worlds End (2013)
- Baby Driver (2017)

British director, makes action films that are usually hidden beneath another genre (eg, shaun of the dead - horror/comedy, scott pilgrim vs the world - comedy/graphic novel) you wouldn't typically label Scott Pilgrim or Shaun of the Dead as action movies. Edgar Wright is a great filmaker as he can bring comedy and entertainment to normally mundane things, he has a talent for telling the story through camera movements (shots, transitions, angles) rather than dialogue or an exposition. The way he tells part of the story through camera techniques and editing makes the films far more interesting than if the camerawork was lazy. Through observation, you can see that he edits quickly and uses transitions like the pass-by effect in time with the audio to show the audience mundane things, but with more meaning.

The most well known Wes Anderson trademark is his use of symmetrical shots, it is a very distinct style and arguably the most easily recognisable.

His films are very satisfying to watch, they are clean and colourful which elevates the storyline and creates a far more interesting and creative film.
