This angered the colonists because they were not able to expand westward. The colonists were upset with this because a lot of the wealthy had invested in land in the west past the Appalachian Mountains.

The Currency Act was passed by the British parliament in 1764 which banned paper money from being used in the colonies. This limited what the colonists could buy and any money that the had was useless to them and they would have to use British regulated money. The British did this trying to strip the colonists of their wealth. This caused the colonists to struggle to buy things such as food with the new British currency.

The Quartering Act passes by the British Parliament which forced the American colonies to provide enough housing for all of the British troops. Not only did it require them to provide housing but also food which the British was not paying back to them in any way. Not only would the colonists have to welcome the British troops into their homes but also into public buildings. The colonists were angry because not only did the British have so much control over them but now they were forced to have British troops live in their house and have to provide for them.

The Intolerable Acts were a series of acts the the British had imposed in order to keep their power over the colonists. A major part of this act was that it did strip the colonists of their right to have local meetings. Many colonists such as Thomas Jefferson had claimed that these acts were to be voided as they were not pertaining to America. This had angered the colonists because they did not have any voice in anything that the British was doing and there was no way that they were able to stop it
