How are homelessness and mental illness connected?
Since mental disorder such as the one presented on top, it is a barrier for many people with mental illness, unable to maintain a stable incoming, housing. Therefore they become homeless, they don't have the right mindset to be working.

Homeless now is becoming more complicated in today society where mental illness is being developing through many factor such as domestic abuse, non-affordable housing, lack of funding for mental health issue, or funding for employment.

Homeless can also affect mental illness such as self-esteem. Which are self-perception, social comparison, and reflected appraisals. Since you hit rock bottom, anything that is forwarded towards you like eye contact, whispering, talking, you take things in a very negative way.
 With self-esteem can lead to metal illness or adds more stress to your mental illness which can lead to mentally boom mindset like suicide thoughts, or depression.
