    guarded: I wouldn’t necessarily say students are too willing to get outside of their comfort zones even if they are curious. Very by-the-book and less driven or motivated


    Efficient: students care about getting things done in the way they are expected to get things done. Nothing more and nothing less


    Pragmatic: students have a pathway and they don’t often entertain deviating from it. They are in the classroom because they have very specific goals


    Expectant: students have a strong desire to complete something useful and get something practical out of the material they are confronted with.
