How I felt at the beginning of the year compared to now

At the beginning of the year of my 10th grade, I was nervous, scared, and even insecure about myself. At the beginning of the classes I wasn't really knowing what I was doing, I was just following instructions. I wasn't thinking about the purpose or the meaning of each work that my teachers gave me. As the year started to pass, I started to worry about my works and my final exams, I started to think that the work I was doing it wasn't enough to pass those tests. My preoccupation started to raise, as my knowledge did too, I started to study more, put more effort on my works, pay more attention in class, and doing everything that was in my hands to feel confident with myself and my knowledge.

A project that I'm especially proud of is the project of business of Ms. Sanchez, that we did and present a little while ago. That project not only helped me to realize that whatever you desire and put effort on it, you can do it, but also that big dreams can come from a small mind. That project represents not only a dream that I have, but also my story, the story that I have with my family and the people I love. This project is about founding your own business and I decided to create a Vterinary. Since I was little, my dad showed me the love and care he has for the animals and those feelings made me want to investigate more about it and wanted to follow his steps.

A brief review of a book I read this year that impacted me.

A book that I totally loved and honestly the first one that I've finished completely, is the 20,000 leagues under the sea by Jules Verne. In summer, my dad game me some books to read, but I didn't really payed attention to them even though this book in specific called my attention, I didn't really wanted to read it. A normal movie night with my family, we watched a movie about the ocean and pirates, since then my curiosity about this topic started to increase, wanting to know more about one of the biggest misteries of the planet, the ocean. After watching a few more movies about this topic, I remembered this book so I started to read it, like every other book that I've read before, this one started to get me bored, but the curiosity and the aspiration to know more about the Captain Nemo and his adventures, were bigger than the boredom and laziness. A quote that really impacted me was “The sea is everything. It covers seven tenths of the terrestrial globe. Its breath is pure and healthy. It is an immense desert, where man is never lonely, for he feels life stirring on all sides.” This quote captures Captain Nemo’s deep connection to the ocean and reflects one of the book’s central themes: the mystery, beauty, and vast power of the sea.

Reflect on a academic challenge

An academic challenge that I had this year, was to pass the FAST ELA Reading, for me is a hard test to pass, especially that English is not my first language. A couple of weeks before the exam, I was studing hours after hours about this exam, thanks with my teachers' help with the practice tests and the other activities about this topic, I could make this study. At the beginning of the year, I didn't believe in myself but my intensive reading teacher, Ms. Rugel, she gave me the confidence and courage to not give up and believe in myself. I still remember a phrase that she told me in the first days of school, "This year, you are getting out of ESOL and you'll pass this test, I know you will, I believe in you" that phrase I still have it in my mind, and even it was a simple phrase, it gave me that little push that I needed. I also want to thanks Ms. Escobar for helping me and supporting me during this long trip of passing this test :). I learned that no matter how many times you try, DONT GIVE UP!!

A song that inspired me this year was Dinner Date by Sunrise Academy, this song represents me and represents what I want for my future, inspiring me to follow my dreams. This song tells us a story of a couple that faces all obstacles, no matter if its faniancial problems, family problems or even common problems between couples, their love doesn't end. That's what inspired me to look and find that love, that love that no matter what happens, it never ends. There are multiple parts of this song that gives me hope and inspire me, one of them is "I'm looking through the blinds. Got a plate for you and me. You parked up by the mailbox 'cause the parking lot's not cheap So come on in, no need to give a knock on my door I set the table out for two. And put your favorite record on". These sentences represent a love that will stay together no matter what.

My hopes for Junior Year

My hopes for Junior year are many, a lot of them represent something I dream about and something I want to accomplish. One of the biggest hopes that I have for my Junior Year is to increase my knowledge about medicine and my abilities to treat people and make sure they are healthy. Another hope that I have is to go to every or the majority ot the trips for this grade, even if its a school trip, I want to keep exploring little by little and keep meeting new people. An important hope that I want to accomplish next year is to help more people and make them feel that they are not alone, especially the ones that just come from other countries because I know what it feels like. And the last one but not least important hope that I would like to accomplish is to be a good student and have a good relationship with my teachers.
