The book I had chosen to read about was slavery. In this book of speeches of Greenhaven's press was one the best in history of all times. It gave students an opportunity to be aware of their knowledge and their conception of their history by studying some of the historical speeches that has been ever written and delivered in front of major audiences. Each volume traces a specific era that is historical, and issue or event.

Each speech that is given is very comprehensive and annotated with table of contents that help readers quickly locate the material of their interest and serves as a launch for other research. It gives very detailed background on each speakers life and their work, it makes it vibrantly and feels alive and demonstrates the potency of the spoken word.
