Tempest Boy is a 1964 Australian kids' book by Colin Thiele about a kid and his pelican. The book focuses on the connections he has with his dad Hide-Away Tom, the pelican, and an untouchable Aboriginal man called Fingerbone. The story has been sensationalized a few times.

A much-loved pelican used in the South Australian film Storm Boy has died. The pelican, Mr Percival, had been living at the Adelaide Zoo since the late 1980s anddied overnight. The bird was aged in its mid-30s. ... The boy is forced by his father to release them, but one bird, Mr Percival, returns.

We saw in the book Storm Boy how critically endangered birdlife unfortunately attracts the hunters to the sanctuary and how hunters deliberately kill birdlife and wildlife. In the book Storm Boy, the three Mr. P’s mother was killed by hunters in the sanctuary. This action was done intentionally. Storm Boy saw this and wasn’t pleased by the hunters’ action. When Storm Boy was hurrying back to inform Hide-Away and Fingerbone Bill, he saw three tiny pelicans under the broken nest and rescued them. This is an action of Animal Welfare. The book Storm Boy is trying to spread a message by taking care of wild life rather than killing them. How would you feel if you got shot or killed intentionally with doing any harm to anyone?

storm boy tells the story of a 10 year old boy who lives with his father after his mother had passed away. Storm boy and hide-away lived between the Coorong and the sea. The only other man who lived anywhere near them was Fingerbone Bill, the Aboriginal. He was a wizened man with white teeth and a jolly black face. He knew all the signs of wind and weather in the clouds and sea/ocean. In his humpy Fingerbone kept a dis organised collection of iron hooks, wire netting, leather, an old blunderbuss and so on. Sometimes behind the sand hills, storm boy found white heaps of seashell and bits of stone. Storm boy would look at the peaces of shell and rocks and wonder how long they have been there for. Throughout the story storm boy found 3 pelicans and 2 were strong and healthy but the 3rd was desperately sick and was in need of help. Storm boy took the 3 baby pelicans in and stayed up all night looking after them and especially the sick one who was on the line of death. In three days the baby pelican was well enough to sit up and ask for food. The pelicans grew healthy and strong and were given names (Mr. Proud, Mr. Ponder and Mr. Percival). From that day on storm boy was the proud owner of the three pelicans who were now fully grown with big white curved necks, long beaks that shone like a pink pearl shell on the upper beak and big strong wings that helped them glide through the sky.

Storm boy approched the wrecked nest to find three baby pelicans, he picked them up and ran off to his father.

Two of the baby pelicans were in good condition but the third pelican was weak and they didn't think that it would survive, nonetheless they took in the birds to nurse and care for them. All day long Storm boy would sit there watching over them, even throughout teh night he'd wake up to check on the birds just to make sure that they were warm enough or making sure that they weren't hungry. Due to this care the sick pelican slowly healed.

Storm boy named one of the birds Mr Proud, Mr Ponder and Mr Percival, eventually caring for these three adult pelicans were too much for them to care for, so they set all three of them free.

Eventually the youngest of the three Pelicans, Mr Percival flew back, he never left Storm boys side and this showed there strong bound of friendship.

Mr Pecival helped assist with a rescue when a storm had broken out through the seas and a small sailboat was caught adrift.

From than on Mr percival also flew around and protected the other birds in the sanctuary warning them when a hunter would be around but alas all good things come to and end.

a moving story which became a magical film storm boy is one of the classics of Australian writing for children. this edition is illustrated with paintings by renowned artist Robert.
Storm Boy likes to wander alone along the fierce deserted coast among the dunes that face out into the Southern Ocean.

At the point when Storm Boy goes strolling along the shoreline or over the sandhills, or in the asylum the winged creatures are not apprehensive. They realize he is a companion. He lives with his dad, Hideway Tom in a humpy made of brush and wood. One day a gathering of youthful pelicans choose to come to visit Storm Boy and Hideaway. With their companion Fingerbone they name them Mr Proud, Mr Ponder and Mr Percival. At the point when two of them leave, Mr Percival remains to live with them and Storm Boy and the pelican turn out to be closest companions. Consequently Mr Percival salvages a wrecked angling team. This moving story turned into an enchanted film and is presently one of the works of art of Australian composition for youngsters. Alternate stories in this book are: The Water Trolley, The Lock-Out, Dad Ran a Fowl Run, The Shell and The Fish Scales.

storm boy is 11year old boy who lived between Coorong and the sea with his dad after his mum died they also lived with Fingerbone Bill their aboriginal friend. Hide-away Tom is storm boy’s father. They left Adelaide when their mum and wife died they went to live like a loner by the sea. People thought it was kind of cruel to take a four-year old (at the time when they moved storm boy was four) to a wild place but they were both delighted.

Storm boy loved all living creature and he knew that they were his friends but sometimes storm boy realizes something the makes him miserable. He sees people wanting to hurt the birds in the seasons, shooter come chasing wounded duck up the Coorong. Some sneaked in to the sanctuary during the night, shot the bird at daybreak and creep out again quickly and secretly. Visitors want trampling and went about kicking the nest and breaking eggs. Some men with rifles called themselves sportsmen, when unable to find anything else to shoot at, bet one another that they could hit an egret or a moor-hen or a heron standing innocently by the shore.
