  • The president, Jean Bertrand, had treated his the Haitian people well. Despite his overall positive reign, Bertrand did not agree with the military's actions. he didn't agree well with the Haitian military and the elite people of Haiti. Because of this disagreement, Jean was sent to exile for sometime.
