This Convention also prohibits torture assaults upon personal dignity, and execution without judgment.

This Geneva Convention helped protect the suffering of combatants from a legal standpoint.

After war brewing in multiple countries (e.g. the American Civil War,) representatives of 12 different states signed the convention on August 22, 1864. Some include:
