I told myself I would never go into education because I saw all the work my mother did as a teacher behind the scenes. After getting my associate's degree I moved to Wichita and worked as a waitress, then went into Aircraft for the money. When I was laid off from aircraft I started volunteering in my daughter's kindergarten classroom. That is when I knew my true calling.
