Positive reinforcement is an evidence-based ABA strategy. Many children with ASD express behaviors that are not always appropriate or desired. Reinforcement can be both positive or negative. Reinforcement looks differently for all children since each child may desire something different as their reward. When using reinforcement it is important to be consistent in order to see a change in behavior.
