b) I liked the reading chacmool because it was very interesting and it was something I enjoyed, also how the story breaks down and explains the nocturnal ways of chacmool.

b. I enjoyed the story for its brevity, vague ending, and nontraditional format of journal entry. I also loved how the readers got to see the dynamics shift between Filiberto and Chac Mool, defined by the water in the house. Filiberto silently struggling alone and slowly going "crazy" also added a sense of mystery that I really love in science/religious/mythical fiction.

This story makes me feel curiousity. At first it just seemed like Filiberto was just buying a statue, but then it slowly turned into something strange. I was surprised when the statue started to come alive and started to control Filiberto’s life.

Yes, I liked the story. I like stories that mix old culture with mystery. It was interesting to see how a statue from Aztec times could have power in the present. The ending made me think about, if Filiberto drowned on his own or if Chac Mool had something to do with it.

B)  I liked the story because it mixed ordinary, everyday life with supernatural elements in a way that felt both realistic and unsettling. The way Chac Mool comes alive made the story stand out and left a strong impression. At the same time, I didn’t like how dark the ending was, since it left me with a sense of discomfort, but I realize that’s part of what makes the story powerful.

B. I personally liked the short story; you can feel this scary tension as you read, which I liked. I wish we knew more about the background history of the Chac Mool, but I overall loved it.

B. I did enjoy the story. The author did a great job explaining the setting the visual. I was able to have a visual movie. In addition even though I was uneasy about the Chacmool I was impressed how he made that character so alive.

B. It isn't a story that I would usually go for, but it was enjoyable and wouldn't mind reading it again. If there is a movie about it, I would like to watch it.

B) I really enjoyed reading this story, I love how the story began with the death of Filiberto and then unraveled the mystery through Filiberto’s journal writings. It felt like I was reading a psychological horror story mixed with mythology.

b) I liked it and the twist at the end. I also liked how it had a lot of double meaning! However, it did take a couple of re-reads on some parts because it was somewhat confusing. Other than that, I liked this short story!

b. I liked the story because it had a mysterious theme around it. The story sounds familiar because it centers around material things coming to life. That has a creepy feeling behind it so I thought it made for an interesting story.

b.) Yes, I liked this story because it was very entertaining. The story had the audience wanting to know what was going to happen the whole time, and the twist at the end made it more memorable. Overall, the story was really good and it kept me entertained from beginning to end.

2) Like I said, the story had a suspense that a lot of readers like myself enjoy. The way filberto was “consumed” by this deity which resulted in his death was something very scary for many people but it adds suspense

b. I did enjoy this story because it's something different from what I've read before. I also appreciate the cultural connections the the indigenous culture and all the magical elements to it.

Yes i like the story, even though it was weird. when i read it the story was about a statue controlling a man, and i was connecting it too colonial history. the story made me reflect deeper.

B)I began to reflect on the power of the past and how we once didn't fully understand it. However, it also felt a little unsettling, which was part of its appeal.

b. I did enjoy reading chacmool, from the beginning I was hooked and did not want to stop reading. The author knew how to write and used his talent in creating something which was amazing to read.

B. I like the story because it had a bit of a mysterious theme and I liked how it had a meaning to it. But when I did read it the first time I had to reread it a couple of times because it did have me a bit confused at first.

Yes, I liked it because it mixes reality and fantasy together. Fuentes uses the Chac Mool to show how the past still has power over the present and how something we think we can control can end up controlling us. For example the slow transformation of Chac Mool from stone to flesh was very visual and strange. It’s not a comforting story, but it’s a powerful one.

b) I like the story because it has mixed feelings and makes you question a lot if this can be true. Like, in real life, can this really happen that a statue can come to life?
