1. Students struggle math math-based application questions and questions with diagrams just as charts, graphs or pictures. However, students are strong with recall based. Depth of Knowledge questions above level 2 present to be a problem for students. These questions usually are strategic thinking questions. Within the physical science course students are strong with vocabulary recall but need additional support with application of the concepts based on Quiz 1 and pre-assessment data. Compared to students in physical science courses, chemistry students are strong with application and recall, but struggle with understanding math-based concepts. Students who participate and attend daily sessions perform at much higher levels.

2. Physical Science

a. Psc.1.1.2

3. Chemistry

a. Chm 1.2.2.

4. Both will be retaught in small group settings using breakout rooms and partner collaboration. Much learning is done by student interaction. Use of Jamboard and Booklet are additional tools that can foster student growth in such areas.

* I notice a lot of gaps. I also notice that it seems perhaps students were able to find the answers to the pre-test online, as their performance since then hasn't been on par with their pre-test performance
* I need to revisit the pre-test due to the large number of students who haven't taken it. So far, I don't see evidence yet of a need to reteach anything as a whole group. In EES, a small group for 1.1.2 is needed in 2nd block. In Bio, there is growth in 4.1.1 across the board for those that took the pretest, and I will be assessing 4.1.3 tomorrow.
*I will have designated days where I will rely on a flipped classroom structure. With this, there will be different assignments catered to either reteach or enhance learning. Students will be put into breakout rooms so that I can be more hands-on with the reteach group while the other students are working. I will also assign certain students who have demonstrated mastery to assist with the reteach groups as well.

I think that the more that information is virtual, the more gaps there are with our kids completing stuff even if it is extremely simple so I think it would be good to continue to remind students of past assignments and work to complete to help them be more engaged and not feel like they have to climb 4 mountains of work
