This poem tells us about how parents should treat their children and a child’s response to their behavior. The poem takes us to the life of a girl (Amanda) who often gets instructed and controlled on even small things like eating chocolates, slouching, biting nails. Periodic instructions are good but controlling a in everything can lead to formation of hatred for one’s own parents.

Something similar happened with Amanda. She started feeling that it would have been better if she was an orphan and gradually she became very rude and started taking her parents for granted.

Characters:
Amanda : Amanda is the girl who gets scolded and instructed by her parents on even small things.
Amanda’s Parents: Amanda’s parents want to control her on every small thing.

Questions:
What are the things that Amanda’s parents are stopping her from doing?
Why do Amanda’s parents want to control and instruct Amanda?
What are Amanda’s feelings?
Why do you think that Amanda is not looking towards her mother/father when he/she is talking to her?

Puzzled in:
I need clarification in this paragraph:
(There is a languid, emerald sea,
Where the sole Inhabitant me……)

Theme:
This poem reminds us about the fact that nothing in this world is permanent. When we lose something that is in our possession we tend to think or even overthink about how or where we lost it. this poem is rather a story that is narrated to us about how we need to overcome our lose.

We should know how to let go of certain things in our lives even if it includes a huge lose. This poem is just a way of remembering that no matter how hard rocks life throws at us we must push and fight, overcome our lose and move on.

Main characters:
The main characters in this poem is the boy. the boy depicts us as in who we are. he is mourning that fact that he lost his first own possession and he has two ways in front of him. He can either mourn his lose his entire life or try to move on and make a better reason out of his own life.

QUESTIONS?!!!
1) Why was the boy so sad about losing a ball?
2) are we supposed to be sad about loosing someone our entire life? if not then why do we hang pictures and portraits of them after they pass away?

Theme:
This story teaches us about how it is important to grab each opportunity when its time. We should always know that taking a step forward is only better than taking one backward. if that day the seagull wouldn't have sworn his wings and fly to his food then he would never realize the capability he had.

likewise if we have some kind of capability and we don't explore it we when have the chance we might never know what we behold within us.

Characters:
the main characters are the seagull and his mother. the seagull only got to experience his first flight be cause of his mother and the temptation of food she beheld in her arms. the seagull is the one that taught us that no matter what happens we all have something within us that one would need some exploring.

QUESTIONS?!!!
1) Do we always need someone or something like a temptation to guide us and tell us about what kind of ambition we hold or we can find and solve them out on our owm?
2) what tricks did seagull's parents teach to his siblings?
3)How did they make the young seagull take his first flight?
