Are there signs that I could recognise as a teacher, if my students are listening to Rechtsextremismus music?

Here it could be key to look for signs of their language and/or looking for the names of the bands they listen to. This could be key into learning more about what the band is singing, and what your students are listening to.

The Video von Generation Identity or some of the other materials shared in the PowerPoint make it very difficult to teach, because of the meaning behind them. How can I use these in my lessons?

The best thing to do is to talk to parents, the school principle and of course students. It should be explained, that these resources are being used for educational purposes only. The symbols and videos are allowed to be shown in lessons, so long they are used to educational purposes.

Trump received 74 Million votes. Obviously here is some meaning behind this and it is scary. Would you say that videos such as the one shown are a reason for the Trumps success?
If you look at the election, you will see a lot of very right propaganda used by Trump. However these materials were also there before the election. You can see them in early 2015. Although Trump used some of this material, it doesn't mean that all Trump voters are richt extremists. There are also many single issue voters, that see another issue as more important and don't give as much importance to other issues.

Would you or have you visited schools to talk about these important issues?

I have, but not much but would. There are however lots of great materials that can be used in classroom already.

When asked about his work as a channel for his experiences, Peter explained that because of his parents’ experience as survivors of the Holocaust, he often felt as though he had no right to his own experience. He carries the burden of his parents‘ past and channels those stories and voices of characters like a prayer to no God.

Can you talk a bit about autobiography and fiction? how much of "you" is in these stories? How much is the collective memory part of your stories?

Peter's fiction is fiction. He takes moments from his life and twists them around. However, he wouldn't describe his work as autobiographical - except in their tone of angst.

The permanent repetition of breaking glass, bones, mirrors...reminds me of the Reichskristallnacht. is this intended or does it "just comes out of you“?

"Ich bin davon voellig besessen." Peter goes on to explain how the Pogromnacht and other horrors of the Holocaust seep into a lot of his work. While he hopes it isn't the focus of every story, it certainly plays a role in his writing.

Thank you for a very impressive and moving reading. Could you please describe the values you taught your son?

Good or bad is not always a question of black and white. It is rather grey.

Question for Peter, You mentioned that your parents refused to stop speaking German when they emigrated, which would mean forfeiting a fundamental facet of their identity. And so you’ve already spoken a bit about this, but I’d love to hear more about what significance German-speaking has for you and its role in your work.
Here, Peter explained that he has a private theory of left and right-hand consciousness. He associates his German with his left-hand consciousness and describes it as an idiosyncratic German. When he speaks German he is brought back to his childhood. The certainty that he experiences in life as his adult-self is balanced out when he taps into his child-like consciousness, inspired by his German.
