Here is my example study. My name is the title, so you know who posted. I pasted a copy of an article I consulted for my research paper from my graduate comp exams and relevant to the research I've been involved with at work. This article examined high incarceration rates and the problems with returning back to communities with high rates of incarceration. Method of data collection involved individual and group interviews. I'm new to this too, so I'm going to hit the "publish" button to make sure this posts correctly. Hope you enjoy the Padlet format for sharing!

The COVID-19 Pandemic's effect on Early Child Development
Keywords: Stress, COVID-19, Pandemic, Child Development
This topic is pretty interesting because it's a relatively new phenomenon and a natural experiment about something (the pandemic) that has affected virtually all of our lives. With that being said, I think researching further into this topic is incredibly important so we can identify COVID's potential impacts on children. As a future teacher, researching this topic might provide me insight on how to accommodate and support my future students. I also think this would be a great way to practice engaged pedagogy. If I can understand who exactly I'm teaching, I can cultivate a safe learning environment where students feel safe, engage in meaningful discussion, and acquire valuable knowledge.

Not only should the education cover gay/lesbian relationships, but should also provide information about transgender, queer and questioning youth as well. I believe youth do not always get the best information when it comes to the LGBTQ+ community and may not feel comfortable asking questions at home so they should be able to get the education at their place of learning.

I believe understanding different parenting styles and how they affect a child is important. I feel like something that is not really talked about is how going out in public and the people around you can either have a positive or negative impact on how you react to your child and what they are doing or acting. there are many different studies of how the public eye can affect a parent and their children even if the child is doing nothing wrong except being a child. we often let society make it seem as if children are being bad by being loud, silly, etc when overall they are just children.

This topic is of interest to me because being a product of immigrant parents myself, cultural differences were very prominent throughout my development. Family conflict due to differing values and beliefs played a huge role in my development. It would be interesting to learn more about the consequences of this type of development.

Child Care, Low-Income

Affordable child care is an important topic for CAD and ECE students/workers to address. The need for child care is increasing as many parents are transitioning back into pre-COVID office/in-person work. Many parents work 9-5 jobs and perhaps even more than one job in order to afford rent and pay the bills. Typical child care costs more than $1000. When families are living paycheck to paycheck that is a ridiculously high price.

If parents can not afford care, they can not work and if they can not work, they can not pay rent or bills. When parents are too busy the child is unable to strengthen or support the communication given a second language. Most schools only focus on English and this makes many students forget the second language. These languages are an identity to the child and with the support there are benefits in learning a second language. In this article I learned how being bilingual can improve memory and delay dementia. When compared to others who aren’t the years of dementia there is about a four year difference. The results of being bilingual showed the improvement of memory and specifically, episodic memory. Language can bring awareness to identity and culture to everyone around you.
