1. How to convert decimals to fractions? (or fractions to decimals).
First you need to look at place value(thousands, hundreds, tens, ones, decimal ,tenths, hundredths, thousandths,
ten thousandths)for decimals. Next you look at whatever place value its in is the denominator for the fraction.
2. Why do you need to know this? People use fractions to decimals all the time when they are grocery shopping. Example: orange juice can be 100% orange juice or 30 % orange juice depending on the brand of orange juice.

Test
1. 0.004=
2.0.4=
3.4/10=
4.80/1,000
5.00.8=
6.8/10=
7.400/1,000=
8.00.650=
9.800/1,000=
10.20,000/100,000=

Answer Key
1.4/100
2.4/10
3.0.4
4. .08
5.8/10
6...8
7. .04
8. 65/100
9. .8
10. .2

1.How to add and subtract decimals? First you line up the decimal points then its just like normal subtraction or addition.
2.Why you would need to know how to add and subtract decimals? You need this for when you are out shopping and you need to know how much money you will have left once you spend $13.75 out of $20.00.
3. Why you need to know how to add decimals? Say you were at a store and you bought a pack of water bottles that cost $5.76 and a pack of fruit snacks that cost 2.00 and you need to know how much money to give cashier.

1.How to round decimals? You always look to the right. Example to help you remember-First you look at the place next door 5 or higher add 1 more 4 or less just ignore. By rounding to the nearest whole , nearest dollar or tenths etc.
2.Why you need to know how to round decimals?
You need to know how to round decimals because say you are in the store and you have 5 things in your cart the first item cost $2.50, the second item cost $4.00 , the third item cost $5.80, the fourth item cost $5.55 and the last item cost $7.89, and you need to know how much it is going to cost to make sure you have enough money to purchase you items.

Test
1.39.07
2.4.78
3.7.9
4.87.67
5.67.89
6.70.89
7.50.90
8.34.89
9.9.9
10.50.89

Answer Key
1.40.00
2.5.00
3.8.00
4.88.00
5.68.00
6.71.00
7.51.00
8.35.00
9.10.00
10.51.00

1.How to divide decimals ?
First you need to make the divisor a whole number by multiplying it by the amount needed ( do the same with the dividend),then divide and have you're answer (don't forget THUZA).
2. Why you need to know this? This will come in handy when cooking. So say a recipe calls for 5 cups of milk, 1.5 cups flour and 2 sticks of butter but I only have 1 stick of butter in this case you need to split everything in half. Which would be 2.5 or 2 1/2 cups of milk, .75 or 3/4 cups of flour and 1 stick of butter.
