Review morphology from previous years. When teaching new morphology, put it in their hands with prompts like “turn this into a word that means…” and review new words as well throughout the year.

Overall goal…create systems and structures to make the most of the time for each student. I will work on aligning our morphology with our reading scope and sequence. Intentional review and reinforcement across subjects will solidify the concepts in students’ brains. THANK YOU ARC TEAM!!!!

I’m excited to get started with the new resources and content for teaching spelling. The lessons really make more sense than the Words Their Way program and it addresses issues that our students struggled with in spelling. So this is great. Unfortunately, I feel a bit overwhelmed with all of the the information and will look at it more carefully during the summer to hopefully make it easier to use.

I am so thankful for the resources provided for us this year! It is very exciting to be aware of the consistency not just between our own grade levels, but also the grade levels that we are sandwiched between. My goal is create a classroom where students feel confident in their spelling and their reading. I also want to be prepared as a teacher and become more phonetically aware as well.
