Teamwork and collaboration were evident and vital to the success of not only the students but the teachers as well.

We are currently using PLC as a way to complete tasks and check things off a list. We need to be more intentional with our time to truly be reflective. The PLC Calendar/focus should help our leaders feel more confident in leading PLCs without admin in the room.

The PLC’s were meeting at least 2x a week and creating positive impact on student and teacher growth.

The PLC’s were supporting the growth of their teachers, which in turn improved their students.

Our PLC’s need to have goals and structures. There needs to be clear procedures on things that need to be addressed.

There was teacher growth and student growth when PLCs were utilized correctly and effectively.
Our current PLCs incorporate some of the practices listed but unfortunately we also lack some. Incorporating all the practices fully will make our PLCs even stronger.
Being intentional with our time, more frequent reviewing of data, and making sure the entire team is vested in the collaboration.

I was actually very happy that several of the examples reflect a current practice or a change that we had already decided to make. There were definitely some ideas like, making each person in charge of something to give ownership. No one is in charge, the team runs collaboratively with a common goal

I can definitely see planned meetings with very defined purposes. This guides and sets expectations for all involved. They also show evidence of strong collaboration.
We are similar, but probably not as focused at the HS. A more structured schedule is helpful, but with enough flexibility to address day to day issues that come up.

I believe we already incorporate many of the ideas in our PLCs. Having each member invested in the success of the whole is a strong sentiment in our department. ❤️❤️

Cross campus collaboration with teachers in different grade levels.
Our campus aligns with many of the plc practices in the scenarios. We need to lead more with intention and not just checking a box off on a todo list.
Master/shared document on what we need to lead for the day/week to make our PLC time more intentional to get the most out of that time frame.

The PLC strategies that were evident in each statement were: data informed discussion/practices, clarity of purpose, and student/teacher growth. These are the elemental purposes and structures of PLC at SIS. One difference we discussed was the "curiosity" driven data inquiry versus the required data inquiry, and how that might look with in our PLC. We discussed having a more explicit outline to help with the clarity of purpose.

Scenario PLC- more structured and focused easing to teachers feeling empowered and supported.
Changes
Having a planned and focused PLC will #1 give our ITLs an idea of expectations and focus to better help their teachers and #2 give our teachers the tools necessary to be successful. Intentional planning and collaboration leads to feelings of confidence and success.

We discussed last years and gathered info from teachers on what the PLC needs. Making the ITL's more in charge of facilitating the PLC's so that the goals of each team are met. Making sure that the PLC used to reach our common goal and not just compliance.

They were structured and purposeful. Each PLC required collaboration. Our current PLC's need more structure and collaboration to become more successful.

Unfortunately, some of our PLC time feels more like checking off tasks rather than being intentional with data analysis. We need to focus more on meaningful discussions that truly drive instruction and student growth.
