A Tragic hero is typically someone who develops a flaw that leads to their tragic ending, usually their death. Both the graphic novel and original passage show Victor Frankenstein expressing characteristics of a tragic hero. The biggest difference between the two is that in the graphic novel you get to see a glimpse into Victor's mind as he is dying and see that he dreams of those he has lost. Highlighting why his ending was so tragic. But I would say the original text gives a clearer representation of the hero type because it specially says that he has failed, his tragic ending, and was mislead.

Both texts depicted how Elizabeth was murder in her home by Frankenstein's monster. You can imagine the brutal manor it happened in through the descriptive words in the original text and see it through the broken necklace and marks on Elizabeth's neck in the graphic novel. The graphic novel also shows a dark cast over Elizabeth's face in the second picture and the same dark cast on Victor's face while looking at her body. This could be symbolizing how a part of him has died with her. Giving a deeper understanding of the conflict Victor faces and the impact this has on him, which is why I liked the graphic novel version more.

The resolution happens right after Victor dies and his creation comes to him to ask for forgiveness. The monster feels extreme self hatred and guilt for what he did and declares to Walton that he is going to kill himself. The graphic novel gives a better understanding of this however, it shows the monster reaching out to Victor and also when he was going to his death. Giving a sense of intense need to find some sort of peace even if it's in death. Both texts make you feel empathy and sorrow for the monster when he talks about the hatred he feels towards himself. Which is conflicting because of all the death hes caused and the hatred towards him for it.
